Me and oh have both agreed that we are not going to be having anymore babies and that this Lil girl is going to complete our family :)
Im going to be talking to my consultant on the 16th and see what he says about it and if he agrees to having a csection with a view to being sterilised. Im not too sure if he will agree or not :/ just wondering if this is a valid reason or not as I know that some consultants are pretty strict on the reasoning to have a planned csection x

My friend has to be put to sleep to deliver her babies due to previous medical problems with her other children, not a c section like put to sleep sleep she is going in on the 8th April and she has arranged for "her tubes to be tied" whilst she is out of it as they wish to no longer have anymore children. She didn't say her consultant had any problems with it at all and agreed to do it, am not sure if it could be done under a c section though maybe you would need putting asleep...am not sure how it works tbh xx

You can be steralised during a c-section, but every hospital and consultant seems to differ on opinions on this.

I'm not sure where you would stand if you're not already due to have a section though? I'm not sure they would consider this to be a valid reason for a section. They would probably more than likely advise you to have baby then come back for the steralisation separately.

There's no harm in asking though.

I'll defo go ahead and ask and see what they say.
We both agreed that 4 is enough and we are lucky to have two of each so don't want anymore little surprises.
The only thing that really bugs me is the thought of having the needle in my back lol. I hate needles enough as it is so this will more than likely put that fear/hatred of needles up by miles lol x

You honestly don't feel it or see it so don't let that worry you! I hate needles too but honestly didn't mind this one!

I found the opposite to be true, after labour and an emergency csection and every needle that goes with it my needle phobia is almost gone! The one in your back is easy because you can't see or feel it. They will give you a local first which is no worse than a quick scratch.

The needle doesn't really feel the same way a needle in your arm does. It's hard to describe but it's an uncomfortable tug rather than a painful stab! LoL!

In the UK they cant refuse a CS legally if thats what you want.

If you are having a CS anyway it makes sense to do both at the same time. The opperation to be sterilised is fairly minor in comparison to a CS, which is mayjor surgery that they have to cut through you stomach muscles for, so personally I wouldnt do it just for that.
