Is it worth buying new born or can I just buy 0-3 months instead? Thanks in advance ladies!x

I only bough 0-3 but Isla was tiny! She fitted in tiny baby for a few weeks. She was around 12 weeks old when she fitted in 0-3. X

Id probably look at newborn and 0-3 side by side, if theres not much in it id go for 0-3

I tend to go by "they'll grow into it" lol xx

I've been buying 0-3, plenty of room for growth then (I hope) Got a couple of newborn bits but mainly going for the 0-3.

The sizes are all rubbish tbh. Isla is nearly ten months old and fits in 9-12 month trousers and 3-6 tops! Every shop is different as well. Primark is very small for their sizes, as are asda.

They do grow in to them, just look at bit daft in clothes that swamp them! Lol x

I've got some newborn (like nice things) but closer to my due date I'm going to buy some multipacks and keep the receipts. If I use them I use them if I don't I'll swap them for a bigger size.

Same here. Bought a few nice newborn bits but mainly 0-3months. Still feels weird buying baby clothes as I never thought this would happen for me n hubby! :-) Thanks for your responses!xx

We have got a few newborn bits just because when my cousins boy was born all his clothes were huge and he was a normal 7lb baby!

i bought a few newborn for dd and mostly 0-3 but she arrived 4 week early so needed tiny baby clothes, dh had to dash out for them lol.

this time im gonna get a mix plus i have some of dd's things still.

I would still get some newborn hun. My baby was born 6lbs 1oz and the newborn were huge, he was in tiny baby for 6 weeks then newborn.

Have gone for a mixture of newborn and 0-3.

As esoames said, the sizes vary depending on the shop! Primark stuff is tiny compared to the same size in other shops!

Am doing the same. A few of each. Am lucky that my sister is 6 weeks behind me so she will get all the outfits that are not used or he has grown out of in that 6 weeks. :-)

good thread hun I have been pondering this Im buying a mixture of both I think and good tip whoever said to buy some stuff near the end as it can be exchanged!!!

My Lo was 6lb 7 and wasn't even in newborn for 4 weeks but bigger sizes were massive. Just don't buy lots my lo's newborn stuff looks brand new still it got worn that little.

Chookette, been lucky the other way round. SIL has a little one (now 8 weeks old) but she was born big (9lb 8oz) and so none of the newborn bits fitted, therefore we got things that hadn't even been worn (all neutral as they were team yellow too). All the new newborn bits we got have been returned and we've now gone for the next sizes up!

I bought a mixture of newborn and 0-3. He was in newborn for 4 weeks. He was born 6lbs 13oz. xx

I would say 0-3 would be too big my Lo is 6 months and still fits in some 0-3 clothes (he was only 4lb at birth though). Although all the sizes are different in every shop, so check the labels. There isn't a standard size if that makes sense. I would go for newborn and the size below newborn (only get a couple of baby grows in that size though) xxxxxxxx

I thought 0-3 months would be fine but they were massive for her (7lb 5oz born) for weeks and weeks - only started fitting into 0-3 months stuff at 6-8 weeks and she's still comfortably in them now at 14 weeks, so I would say deffo get some newborn stuff :D

I bought mainly newborn stuff and only a few bits of 0-3 but LO was 9lbs 5ozs at birth so didn't fit into a lot of the newborn clothes I bought. He wears some 0-3 but is mainly in 3-6 month clothes now!
If I were you I'd get a mixture and keep the receipts so you can exchange if needs be.
