I thought 0 was fully engaged???!!!

Oh i don't know, the book i have goes on about - and + stations which confuses me even more

I used to get confused about this but my midwife on wednesday said that if the baby is 3/5 engaged it means that she can feel 3/5 of the baby's head above the pelvis.

Three weeks ago she could feel 4/5 and I am hoping that the next time I go she will put 2/5 on my notes which means that there is just 2/5 of his head above the pelvis.

I've never heard of 5/5 but I'm assuming it means the head isn't engaged at all as she can feel all of it. :

That's so confusing as my GP said last week I was 1/5 engaged and this week I was a little more engaged and was 3/5?? I assume he means 3/5 in the pelvis rather than 3/5 out of the pelvis, it makes sense.

Maybe different midwives or doctors use different measurements.



Thats not fair is it, they should all sing with the same hymn sheet if you ask me.
