Into week 3 of weaning and it's going well apart from timings...

Last week Isla was waking about 6am and then having 4 milk feeds during the day - roughly 4 hours apart and having 2 'meals'.

But in the last few days she's started waking up earlier and earlier - was 5am and now the last 2 nights it's been 4am and she's hungry! But then she doesn't wake again till about 9/10am for the next feed.

Anyone's else's LO done this when they started weaning...?

Does she take all her feed? Drake hasn't done this but if he does wake up, his dummy usually resettles him. Maybe you could offer her water instead? I've offered Drake water incase he's thirsty now he's eating 'proper' food. It Normally works.

I sort of have this! Sofia has a whole rusk before bed, but has started waking at 3am hungry! She has it mixed with 2 oZs milk then drains a 7oz bottle, I don't really get it? As she used to sleep through. She only wakes for feeding then like you straight back to sleep til like half 8 or 9! It is strange. Sofia is young to be having anything other than milk but doctor said she can have other things cos she was draining rediculous amounts of milk in the evening. Wonder if when they have more meals in a day they will sleep. X

amelias sleep pattern went haywire for a few weeks when i started weaning her but has settled down now x

Maybe as their stomachs expand with having solids, their appetite grows so their sleep is interrupted...?? Good to know that it settles down again! She didn't wake until 5.30am this morning so hopefully we're moving in the right direction again!

Yeah h did this - i tried to make sure he was really full around bedtime and that used to work!!

i just make sure amelia gets all her solids throught out the day and she varys with milk but this seems the best combination for her sleeping well she is on 3 meals a day x

Sorry to go off topic, but how is she doing with her bottles now you are weaning? X

she isnt really interested in the 12 and 4 bottle but use the milk to mix into veg if its to dry i make her porridge up in the mornin with her formula and she usually takes 5-6ozs before bed i make sure she has avyoghurt every day aswell x

How much milk does Amelia have each day on average?

Is she still struggling to feed or has the new milk sorted that out? X

She's much better - I think it's a combination of Dr Brown's bottles and new feeding schedule. We still have a few unsettled feeds with wind issues but overall much, much better!

That's great news, it's so stressful when they won't feed. Glad she is doing better xxx

My little man is taking his milk better too, I increased the hours between his feeds and fingers crossed its sorted his fussiness; well most of the time x
