help needed - 12 week old baby feeding every 2hrs

hello to all.

we need some advice on weaning as our 12 week old baby has been feeding every 2hours and just started waking thru the night. having previously slept thru and did feed every 4-5 hours. he is now demanding food every 2 hourse and has started watching us as we eat. i know that it is not recommended to wean them until they are at least 4 months but his feeding is getting silly - we just cant keep up with him - can we start weaning ? or should i talk to gp/hv ?

I think maybe it sounds like he is going through a growth spurt maybe wait a few more days and see how it goes, Kiara did this then went back to her normal routine. Good Luck

I agree maybe you should wait a few days and see if it settles down could possibly be a growth spurt. My second boy lee was the same he was taking more and more milk till he was having 9ozbottles closer and closer together and that was at 9 weeks. i had to start him on baby rice just a teaspoon but it made all the difference and he was alot happier and more settled. I think it depends on the individual baby, see how he goes and if he's still feeding every 2 hours have a word with your hv and see what he/she suggests, xxxx

Babies have a major growth spurt around 3 months. Leorah turned our world upside down between xmas and NY!! It lasted about a week but things did go back to normal

Yes HV told me most babies have growth spurt between 12 and 13 weeks and Gabriella did! It sounds like a growth spurt to me. Give it a week and see how it goes; it's very tiring though isn't it?
