***Weaning Report***

Nope, going to try carrot again today and see if she'll eat it. Yesterday she looked at me disgusted and spat it out!

:shakehead:

We had carrot and rice last night followed by mushed banana in fromage fraise. She preferred the 1st as the yogurt was cold. But i made both up to last 2 meals, she ate the lot.

That's EXACTLY what I do. She eats to demand during the day but it's usually 7.30am/10.30am/2.30pm and then we do bottle and rice at 5pmish and last bottle at 7.30pm after BAFFUTS!!! Seems to work well and she's sleeping through 12 hours now.

Connie sleeps through 12 hours?!?!? wow...can we swap...? :rotfl: :rotfl:

Do you dreamfeed her Bex? Iz has her bedtime bottle at about 7, then a deamfeed at 11...but she'll only sleep until 3 / 4 am then wakes up for a bottle, or she wakes herself up farting and once she's awake she THINKS she wants a bottle :wall:

We started dreamfeeding but she was so knackered it was a disaster and she couldn't burp which caused no end of problems. So at about 2 months we dropped it and then she went 7.30pm to 1am ish, fed, and then til 5. Gradually the 1am feed shifted later and later as time went on until we were basically doing 7.30pm to 3/4am then to 8am... then seemingly overnight she missed out the feed altogether! Result!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Should probably also mention that Jim and I were awoken this morning by Connie "talking" to SheCow at 5.45am GRRR she was happy enough chatting away for over an hour but of course it's quite hard to sleep when all you can hear is AH-BOOOOOOO! AH-DOOOOOOOO! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

:lol: I love being woken up by chatter- much nicer than screams and if I have to be woken up.... :roll:

I can't wait until I get woken up by "Mummy Mummy Mummy Mummy" :)

:talkhand: Evie hates carrot.... LOL
:lol:

How can you hate carrot?!!!!!!

So far our list is:

LIKE:

* Baby rice
* Baby rice with banana
* Banana
* Baby rice with apricot

DON'T LIKE:

* Apricot
* Baby rice (now she's had it with STUFF in it's too bland on its own I think)

:) Evie didn't like the baby rice but she loves the Cow and Gate brekkie and Banana- she's partial to a bit of rusk too...

She just hates carrot! The look on her face was priceless- it said "Mummy, this isn't banana- why are you feeding me this shit?!?" :lol:

Jade, Charlie hated the carrot as well, I think he's only just got over it :lol:

Gonna try banana again today mixed with the baby rice.

Sazzylou - have u tried basically just stopping the night bottle, we did that with Ted, he was waking at 5am and i automatically fed him, then i thought - maybe he doesn't need it, so next few nights i just soothed him back to sleep with dummy and stroking/patting, he woke for about 3 nights, i did the same, then he slept through. Although he still wakes occasionally in night, its due to pain in his teeth rather than hunger! :hug:

Yeah what's with this bl**dy teething just after things have got better thing?!?!?!?!??!

Connie has a white tooth poking through her TOP GUM of all places (nothing on the bottom yet) and she's a real whinger today :cry:

Aw tell me about it... I swear Ted has had white lumps in his gums from about 12 weeks...but still nothing! If it ain't one thing..... :hug:

On a plus point weaning wise,Ted ate 3 meals today including the apple/banana cereal he HATED a few days ago!!!! :cheer: :cheer:

Becky has been gumming for weeks now and no sign of anything appearing. :wall:

On a brighter note, she's desperate to feed herself now so I let her (basically I had two spoons, she kept one, I filled up the next etc). Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to do it with sweet potato (see how organised I am, orange muslin and all)...

Aww DSL that pic is gorgeous :D

Well, tried Charlie with banana again today, mixed it with baby rice this time and he demolished it :D Think I might try him with some carrot again but mix it with the rice to get him used to it.

Well done Anna for getting Ted to take 3 meals :clap: Does he have a bottle with brekkie, one with dinner and one with tea then a bedtime bottle? So confused :?

Fi... today we had -

6.45am - 7oz bottle
10am - cereal and juice
1pm - 6 oz bottle /carrot/apple
5pm - 6oz bottle & rice /apple
8pm- 6oz bottle

He used to be on 8oz bottles 4x a day so i have sort of cut them down a little while introducing food, but when he was just on one meal i still gave him 4x 8oz bottles.
Went to see the HV at clinic today and had him weighed to check i'm not over feeding him, and he is gaining weight steadily, there was no big peak when he started eating, so she said I was doing the right thing! Phew! :cheer:

Think you just have to go by them - I just decided to give Ted 2 meals one day, then 3 the next and he took it fine. I'm also noticing that he'll turn his nose up at something for the first few mouthfuls...then he'll get used to it. :roll: :)

Trial and error girls :hug:

Thats definitely gonna be our next move i think. Im so scared to drop the dreamfeed

I know she might be fine, but i cant see her sleeping from 7pm - 7am without it :? I could be totally wrong, its just that because she never has gone through i feel like she never will, so im scared to take bits of our 'routine' away (i know im being daft, but i just keep thinking more food = more sleep... not that its actually bloody working for us, anyway...)

Gonne try and just get her off to sleep when she wakes in the night. I'll try that for maybe a week or so, if it doesnt work, im gonna go with what you did Bex and just drop the dreamfeed althogether and hope for the best!! Oooh what id give for a solid nights sleep :pray:

Shes nomming her way through lunch and tea now and she's loving it
eat.gif
She's still on the banana so i think its apple and pear next. Ive not actually tried her on savoury stuff yet, so that should be a laugh. Got a few bits on for her to try out in the next few days though :D We're gonna start her in brekkie next week too, so already got a few jars of baby porrige and musli to get her started :D

Love the word 'nomming'... how ace is that?! :rotfl:

Baby porridge did NOT go down well this morning. She's basically now refusing anything bland. Gonna try carrot tonight.

:shock: omg :shock:

Can i just say, how hideous are poo's now??????
I used to quite enjoy changing his nappy...but omg...this morning after 3 meals yesterday....it was like an adult sh**!!!!! :puke: :puke:
I love my boy but.......blerghhhhhhhhh!!! :puke: :puke:

After Becky's sweet potato adventure last night we had a lovely orange one about half an hour ago! :lol:

Thanks Anna, still just trying to work out how to fit bottles in.

Our nappies are still alright at the moment but think I might try the carrot for tea tonight so we shall see.
