I havent got a clue about sippy cups  Im thinking maybe she's a bit too young for them at the mo, but just wanted to compare with everyone else.....I find it less stressful when i can chat to you lot about things :D

There are some sippy cups suitable from 4 months. I got a TT one and we had an absolute hoot yesterday with it. She seemed to know it was for drinking out of but couldn't quite get the spout in her mouth. I had tried one with a softer sort of halfway between a spout/teat but she seemed to get confused between that and her usual bottle teat. Between pouring it all over herself and laughing she did manage to get a drink out of it

Funnily enough she will actually take water from a glass or open cup so I might just forget it until she's a bit older and doesn't slop the water all over herself.

thomas has had a sippy cup since he was 2 months just give it to them to play with they will get used to it also help them drink out of it and dont get one thats "no spill" as it maybe to hard to get anything out and then it may put them off it
xx

Beth HATED he sippy cups when she was a baby and got really overly attatched to her bottles, and i think that was all because we bought her non spill ones. I could hardly get anything out of them myself...i'll get the good old fashioned leaky types

Looking forward to watching her tip water all down herself now, lol. Should be amusing!!

i can highly recomnd the tt 4+ month one that DSL said about as it doesnt pour out they do have o suck a tiny bit which is good :)
xx

I managed to 'break' PF yesterday trying to post photos of Connie's Weaning Adventures so let's hope I don't do the same today...

We're thinking of moving onto breakfast next as she's draining an 8oz bottle in the morning and marding for more and then watching avidly as Jim and I eat our cereal...

Evie is going to have carrot for her lunch today :D

I might take a pic of the nappy to as a forewarning to those who haven't started weaning yet! :puke: :puke: :puke:

Right, so far I have been giving Charlie his baby rice with his teatime bottle about 4pm but now Jamie is back to school he is in a different routine so I can feed him between school runs.

Question is, if he has a bottle about 2pm, can I then give him baby rice with a drink of water rather than a bottle about 5pm and then his bedtime bottle about 7.30-8pm?

Sooo confused :wall:

That's EXACTLY what I do. She eats to demand during the day but it's usually 7.30am/10.30am/2.30pm and then we do bottle and rice at 5pmish and last bottle at 7.30pm after BAFFUTS!!! Seems to work well and she's sleeping through 12 hours now.

Thanks sweetie, just trying to work out a routine so I don't have a screaming baby while waiting in the school playground

Sorry hun, when Connie has her rice does she have a bottle of milk or water with it?

No idea if I'm doing it 'right' but to begin with she'd have a little bit of rice then get hungry and demand the bottle so she's get her milk and then back to the rice... but now she loves the rice and eats all that first but still has the milk afterwards. She probably does about 5-6oz of milk at 5 including the milk used to mix the rice, and then she has about 4-5oz at bedtime. I always make 7oz bottles so she can take what she wants.

Fab, that sounds perfect to me and would fit in lovely with school :D

I've been to the surgery for Angel to be weighed and spoke to the nursery nurse. She's encouraging weaning but not to give her baby rice unless i need to thicken food. It's tasteless so no point. She also said not to puree to much, make food lumpy. it'll bother me but i'll just have to keep an eye on her.

Fi and Bex thats the semi 'routine' i have for Ted, works well for us too.

Result today he actually ate some apple/pear hipp organic... :cheer:
Hoorah - was worried i had the worlds fussiest baby!!! Next stop...sweet potato!

Wait until you add in peas or broccoli - bright green poo!!!!

well he still wont take a bottle, so i gave him a jar of cottage pie and he ate 1/2 of it an wanted more he normaly only eats 1/4 but where he has only drunk 13oz since 3am he was starving :(
xx

Aw poor Thomas, hope you can get him to take his bottle later Manda

Anna - glad you got Ted to eat something other than baby rice, maybe he could drop Charlie a line and let him know what he's missing out on

Charlie's tea went fantastic, he got all excited when he seen his bowl and spoon and seems really content now :D (first time for the last 3 days  )

Think I might be sneaky tomorrow and put some apple in :shhh:

Connie sleeps through 12 hours?!?!? wow...can we swap...? :rotfl: :rotfl:

Do you dreamfeed her Bex? Iz has her bedtime bottle at about 7, then a deamfeed at 11...but she'll only sleep until 3 / 4 am then wakes up for a bottle, or she wakes herself up farting and once she's awake she THINKS she wants a bottle :wall:

Im not sure weather or not to drop the dreamfeed because im thinking maybe we just disturb her  (and also i think its the bedtime bottle thats causing the trumps!)

Anyways, got my sippy cup at tescos this afternoon (thanks Manda&Thomas and daftscotslass for all the advice :D ) so she'll be having fun with that this afternoon.

She messed about with her food yesterday and wouldnt really take much, so i gave her a little bit of "banana&cookie crumble" baby food mixed in with her milk and rice to see if she liked that.... cor blimey she WOLFED it down!! Just tasted like banana to me, so im gonna get one of those mesh feeder thingies that AnnaR2B mentioned and put some banana in it for her. :D

Sazzylou - we dropped Charlie's dreamfeed about 2 weeks ago now and he has been fine. He has his bedtime bottle about 7.30 - 8pm and sleeps till about 7.30 - 8am. This morning I had to wake him up to feed him so we could be at school in time :D
