Hi All,

I'm 15 weeks today and had urine analysis test doen last week as I was visiting the toilet very frequently and had lower abdominal cramps (have had them on and off since about 5 weeks). The initial results showed presence of bacteria but culture for uti came back negative. My GP has asked me to drop in a second sample for further investigation, as the first indicated "non-specific bacteria". Should I be worried? Has anyone else had this? Worried about BV (I've had a lot of discomfort in general region for ages but my obstetrician said it was most likely thrush) and wondering if this could show in urine?

It's could be just to check it was a clean sample, or to figure out what antibiotics to give you. I'm pretty sure bv is only tested for with a vaginal swab and not a urine test. I wouldn't stress about it though I doubt it's anything serious. Fx xx

I had a similar problem. I was having all the symptoms of a uti and it was so painful. Had 3 urinalysis' done and all came back completely clear. The gp couldn't do anything as didn't know what was going on. I noticed if I didn't drink enough water on those days the symptoms would appear but if I drank tonnes of water they would vanish in a few hours. I can only say to drink inhuman amounts of water hahaha I had to like double my water intake xx

Makes it a nightmare for peeing every 5 mins but rather that than pain xx

Thanks so much, ladies. I'm drinking lots of water but may need to increase! I'll be dropping off my second sample today, so will report back when I know results. x
