Hey everyone!

Well.... Now that we are newly engaged, we were talking a little bit this morning about maybe putting ttc on hold until we get married?

I'm due AF now so if she makes an appearance I might stop ttc and wait until we have a wedding.

But.... If AF doesn't show up..... Well that's another story!! Xx

As I've said in your other thread congratulations! I know you only got engaged last night but any idea how quickly you would get married? Would it be for financial reasons or because you wouldn't want to be a pregnant bride? Or both lol x

I second FP. Depending on when you get married would depend on my answer.

If its a quick engagement, say a year Id wait... (easier said than done) but if you chose one over the other and something got in the way, say for example wedding taking longer than expected, or perhaps TTC taking longer than expected.

Do whats right for you, but if it were me Id only pause TTC year and a half tops, or not even stop at all.

xxxx

Yeah I agree with the girls. If you're thinking you'll have a wedding within 6 months to a year, I'd put it off. You'll be so busy planning the time will fly in. If it's maybe 2 years away, I'd keep trying for another year :) xx

I would keep going until you have set your wedding date & then only you'll know whether you want to stop ttc to avoid being a pregnant bride etc. Xx

Firstly congratulations!!!

I was heavily pregnant at my wedding by choice, so I'm probably a little biased on the one... ;) .... absolutely each to their own but I'd never had the whole traditional 'princess' ideal in my head and I really wanted to he married to my baby's Daddy before it arrived. We had a small, low key wedding so it all worked really well & I had a brilliant day and I love that my son knows he was there and can see that in the photos. The only real downside to me was not being able to go very far afield on a honeymoon.

I can totally see arguments on the flip side though - I felt like age wasn't really on our side so didn't want to stop TTC... but if that's not an issue, I can understand a brief pause to focus on the wedding could be good! Whatever you decide it will be wonderful!

Thanks for your replies ladies!!

Well it's more financially - we couldn't do both at the same time. Which is one reason why I probably couldn't be a pregnant bride. Also, I wanna have a drink!

AF is 4 days late now so I am testing tonight, and if I am pregnant, we will just get married in 2017 but if I am not I reckon we will stop ttc for now mainly for the finances - a stress free wedding planning would be easier all round I think considering how stressed I've seen people get about it!

Aww man I'm so excited for either thing to happen!! Xx

I got engaged back in 2013, we was talking about babies then, we was in our first home etc, and I said I would like to wait until were married, Didn't expect it to take over 2 years though. I said to OH want a baby in 2014, he said ok but if we got pregnant we would have to call the wedding off, I wanted both so bad! we tried for about 4 months and nothing, at this point we had enough money for the wedding, so I said ok lets get married, so we did, a month after we started ttc again.
Personally if it going to be 6 months to a year, I wouldn't try but if you want to be a pregnant bride great go for it lol! But if its going to take longer I would keep trying...
Good luck with whatever you decide to do!! :)

Yeah it's a tricky one isn't it! I will test later and see if I am getting this cycle out of the way or not. If not I will have to delay getting married til 2017 which still isn't too far!! Xx

Nah, we are almost in 2016 already and you know how fast time goes with kids.

My J is 3 almost, I feel as if Ive had him for ever, him being tiny seems years ago now!
