I had my 1st appointment at the fertility clinic on Wednesday. We discussed both mine and my husbands sexual health, how long TTC (3 years) etc. We saw the nurse and she went through OH semen result and that it is all above what they expect it to be, went through my bloods etc and that is all perfectly fine as well.

She said the next stage is for me to have an internal ultrasound scan/ x ray to see if there are any internal problems. They will book me in on the next avaliable slot.

Also on day 1 of my cycle they want me to call and book an appointment for day 9 of my cycle for the Laparoscopy this will mean I will have this done approx 8th April. The nurse said that after having this procedure women are muh more fertile for 3 months so to really go at it during that time!!!!

In the meantime she has told me to get back to taking folic acid everyday and Vit C and for OH to take Zinc,Vit C and multi vits.

My next appointment will be with the Specialist fertility Doctor on July 7th, OH will need to do another sample before that date.

She said that if all results from all tests come back normal still, even though we have been trying for 3 years, there will be no point in fertility drugs as neither of us will be infertile. She said the only other options are IVF and IUI which we would not get funding for as I have 2 children from previous relationship.

Just thought it would be nice to share my experience with you all and see if any one has yet had the above tests, how they went etc???? XXX

Hey i havent had any tests as of yet but i have my first Gynaecologist appointment on 19th April.... Just wanted to say i hope everything goes ok for u :). Amy xx

Hiya Helven - i think that everything sounds really positive and moving really quickly too ;)

I have had an internal ultrasound before and it was ok. They will get a scanning device and insert it into your vagina and then wiggle it around a lot.

It will be a sensation that you will be fairly familiar with, but it's cold :oooo: It's a bit embarrassing really... just watch the screen!

Make sure you have an emtpy bladder too because they will be putting pressure on it.

They counted my follicles to determine how i might react to the stimulation drugs for IVF :)

I'm sure the 7th July will be here before you know it ;)

Thanks ladies, I am really looking forward to it. I feel so relaxed about TTC at the moment as I feel I am making the right steps to seeing if there are any problems.

Amy- Good luck on your first appointment xxx

LouiseB- Thank you for the tips, where are you at with everything? xxx

Had all the diagnostics done and i'm fine but my husband has low count, low motility and low morphology - so buggered.

We need to have ICSI and are just waiting for funding which should be through by May/June :)

Hiya Samsgirl ;)

ICSI is a type of IVF.

IVF = lots of sperm meet egg in a dish for some level of natural selection to occur.

ICSI = one sperm inserted directly into the egg.

You have ICSI is for when the guy has so few sperm cells that they don't want to leave anything to chance :)

ah okay....i get you :)

fingers crossed that happens for you soon :)

can you do it in may please so we can be bump buddies?? he he xxx
