Aw tick tock, things like this really shake our faith in our hospitals and doctors 
But thank goodness it doesn't happen very often.... Don't get me wrong...it shouldn't happen at all ! 
But i do truly believe that IF you do follow up with a complaint... then they will deny any wrong doing.... BUT WILL BE MORE CAREFUL in the future with others.... so some GOOD will come from this..
