Would you believe, i had a major dilema.....i threw out my Clomid tablets by mistake!! I have my old pack, which is 2 tablets short....so i have ended up scrounging tablets off a friend who isnt using them as i didnt have time to get a new prescription. Me thinks i need to name my child after her lol.

Hi ladies hope u don't mind me posting in here, just need some advice. me & oh have our fertility appointment on 8th Nov and I have been trying to prepare. this appointment is meant to be to decide to go private or not. we have been trying since July 2010 so would have to wait another year before can get IVF on NHS. I ovulate, hubbys sperm is normal, I had hycosy which showed blocked tube but unblocked during procedure, also showed cysts on ovaries but consultant said they weren't bad. my cycles are from 28-34 days so pretty regular. the only other option they haven't offered is clomid, so I was wondering if they'd let me try it or if id have to fight for it? Oh doesn't want to pay privately for IVF when can get a cycle for free and don't think they give IUI on NHS in my area. any advice u can give me ladies would be appreciated so I can go armed with knowledge. Xx

Hey hun I'm not sure if they would offer clomid if you already ovulate as I don't think it would help in your case. Plus I don't know if it would over stimulate you if you Ov fine anyway.

Maybe now your tube is unblocked it could happen for you naturally. I know how horrid it is waiting so long and feeling out of control xx

I thought that some girls on here were on clomid but ovulated, maybe Im wrong. I am just thinking of all our other options Xx

Hi, I take clmoid but I do ovulate by myself regularly. I only got it as my "21day" progesterone results were always borderline and I took the clomid as a "boost". I doubt they will give you clomid if you ovulate regularly and have decent progesterone results. Oh and I only got the clmid frm my private doc, the NHS doc so no way!!

what are your progesterone results?

Mines pretty similar to itsbabytime as my progesterone was just under 30 so they couldn't be sure if I Ov or not. Got it from consultant then the second lot from gp. Be interesting to see what your day 21 result was x

I have 4 results, 1st says plasma oestradiol level which has 4 results under different headings, next is plasma testosterone level, then serum sex hormone binding globulin level,then free testosterone. which one is it? All gobbldygoop to me Xx

Hi, your not clueless! Its a lot to learn.

None of those are progesterone. Progesterone may be called day21 aswell. Basically from the day of ovulation to the day your period sdtarts is called the leutal phase. Progesterone rises and falls like a bell curve in this phase. So if u have a textbook 28 day cycle and ov on day 14, day21 will therefore be the peak of the curve ansd the best point to test the levels. The level must be 30pmol or more ro confirm ovulation. If you go for this test which u should do I think! Make sure u go on the 7th day after your last + opk. So if had a + on the 1st, a - on the 2nd go for the test on the 9th. X x

One of the results say 42nmol & in brackets it says (30-90) so guess that is normal range, thought that was the result. I have had day 21 bloods & day 3 etc, I had them all last year, its just deciphering which one is which. took them to my 1st fertility appt but they had a copy anyway. Xx

Help me.....I've just broke down as my best friend in work has just told me she's 8weeks, she wasn't trying and only found out last week! Then another girl in work who has a 2yr old and a 4month old has just palmed her children off for 8days (she only got them back after a week yesterday) why am I so upset about this?? I really feel like I can't cope with ttc anymore but I don't have the heart to stop trying!

Tinks, I got given clomid and I ov'd myself but now I'm on clomid I'm not ov'ing aswel as i thought, last, month I didn't ov according to progesterone levels but I always did without clomid! Personally I think clomid is shite, sorry for my language, I wouldn't bother, I refuse to take another clomid.

I pm in a very negative mood today and I'm sorry if i sound nasty!xxx

tinks, yeah 42 is in the range. you don't need clomid and as it tillie said it might even be counter-productive.

Yes its very unfair the way people get caught so easy and then the likes of us ltttc'ers wait forever for our turn! xxxxs
