You never know hun. What were your results on the previous cycle? X

the previous cycle on 50mg i had the bloods done cd 21 (result 1. something)...but didnt ov un til cd 22

I wonder if *maybe* you could have ovulated later this cycle? Or possibly they did the test at the wrong time as (sorry forgot the name) someone else suggested?

Hopefully your doctor can shed more light on things today.

Bella it really does sound like they are testing at the wrong time hun. If the cycle before you ov'd after having the bloods done i wouldnt be suprised if the same has happened this time. It would completely explain the low results.

I would if i were you ask the doc to test progesterone right through your cycle, every 7 days. I had 3 lots done in one cycle last month to catch ov. I had then done cd17, cd24 and cd31. CD24 gave me my highest reading.

I would ask for the same to be done for you, at least then you'll know for sure x x x

Bella had posted this in a thread in ttc section. I figured i'd post it on here for you to check out itbabytime...im no good with charts as im still learning. But figured you maybe able to shed some light.

******UPDATE********

Just got off the phone with the gynaecologist,.....hes referring me for IVF as theres no more he can do for me as the clomid isnt working (he said if i wanted to continue with the clomid until my ivf appt though that i could as you never know)

I feel gutted, numb, angry....everything really

what a crap couple of days its been :sad:

would it be ok if i stay on the clomid thread tho as im kinda in limbo now, not really on ivf route just yet...and still technically taking clomid

Aww hun :hugs:I know its not the news you wanted. And its gonna sting for a while yet, so do what you need to do to get yourself through the crap news.

I hope you dont mind me saying, but at least now you know and you have a plan of sorts! Continue with the clomid, as your doc says there is still a chance weirder things have happened, and look forward to the ivf.

Ya never know maybe knowing that you have the clomid and ivf to look forward to may help you relax a little, knowing all your hopes arent pinned on the clomid, you may even fall without the ivf whilst waiting.

I totally agree with this Bellarina! I had my progesterone tested every week for 4 consecutive weeks starting on day 21, until i got my period as i have never ovulated before day 21. I really think your gynae is jumping the gun a bit and should be testing you more thoroughly. Hugs xxx

Oh Bella, massive hugs hun! :hugs: I totally agree with what Emma has said, I would continue with the Clomid anyway cos you just never know.

In a way it's good that you've got something different to try and that you're being referred so quickly. I know it's not ideal and it's not what you wanted or how you imagined ttc to be but I have everything crossed for you and I so hope that you don't need the IVF.

P.S. of course you can stay on the Clomid thread, wouldn't be the same without you hun! :friends:

Bell hope you don't mind me popping in, but clomid didn't make me ovulate either, and the next step was FSH injections with iui which is the same stimulating drugs as ivf but not as invasive/lengthy?
Obviously I'm a massive fan as it got me my bfp, but it's worth suggesting to your consultant, it made me ovulate for the first time since I was 15!! And did he say you could try 150mg clomid? It's worth a shot!!
 
For those who were on Clomid but didn't ov, did you have regular cycles on it? I spoke to my GP today about getting bloods done to check I was ovving and she asked about my cycle lengths and told me that the Clomid was working and I was ovving cos I was having regular AF. :eh: x

bella, im sorry, your chart agrees with the bloods. you havent ov'd this cycle, you need 6 temps that are below the coverline and 3 well above it to confirm ov. FF is a pile of crap for making you think you had! I'm so sorry it has come to this.

In the wait though, I would ask for one more cycle of clomid and like the other ladies are saying get your bloods done every 7 days from the day of +opk till af comes. It will confirm that the clomid definately isnt workign adn that the next step can be looked into.

I agree with the above r.e. One more go on Clomid and bloods every week, just to be certain. Hope you're ok Bella. :hugs: x

I'm 5dpo today....the 2ww seems to be passing quickly this cycle! 9 days til testing. :shock:

Well ladies im not sure what my stupid body is playing at this cycle. Had lots of cramps, twinges felt really heavy and ewcm on cd12 so did an opk and it was positive so thought i was oving early this cycle. The next day had no signs of ov and neg opk so assumed i had ov'ed only my temps aren't confirming this. They havent risen at all infact one of them dipped every so slightly today.

I can only assume (pray) that my body geared up for ov then realised it was way to early and gave up? And i'll ov again in the next couple of days. Otherwise it may indicate an issue with progesterone :(

I'm having no obvious signs of impending ov.....so i guess its just a waiting game. ARGH!!

Hey missj

I'm CD14 today. I'm wondering if the opk was right, as it can take 12 to 36 hours to release after the pos opk? So if it hasn't released the egg yet that would explain the lack of temp rise?
 
I'm not sure hun as I don't temp so I don't know how that side of ov testing/pinpointing works. All I can suggest is to defo keep going with ov tests and see what happens, it might be yet to come as I had false positives (on a digi) at cd13 on my first cycle with Clomid, I got my proper positive at cd18.

yeh hubby said i may be a bit more relaxed now. iv got 3 months worth of 100mg clomid left so im gonna keep taking it, as i may be like nicky, as she didnt ov on first 2 rounds but got bfp on her 3rd so maybe its just taking a bit longer for my body to adjust to it (*clutching at straws perhaps*)

Thank you hun, i dont think i could possibly leave you girls in the lurch just yet lol but yeh im gonna continue with the clomid at least another 3 cycles as if nothing else its shortened my cycles significantly. im cd 27 today and last 2 days iv had awful cramps so i think af is on the way

so is iui the injectable version of clomid so to speak? thats briilliant it got you your bfp hun, i think its something i may suggest. thing is i havent had the dye put in my tubes yet to check if theyr blocked so i imagine il need that done wont i? xxx

hey hun, the gynaecologist said i can carry on with the clomid if i want to, which i will as its shortened my cycles and you never know miracles may happen and it may work. at least im on the list for ivf sooner rather than later now tho

well girls since receiving the news yesterday its made me realise, if i want the ivf (or the clomid) to work i need to get my body sorted out, so im going to make a conscious effort to eat healthier and excercise more (took our miniature jack russell on a 3 mile walk last night and shel be doin same with me today (its like 10 miles for her little legs lol) and tonight im going swimming....im also going to start acupuncture with a woman that specialises in fertility....i know of one lady who was ttc for 2 yrs and had a mc and couldnt get preg nant again and after seeing the acupuncturist a few sessions she fell pregnant,....call me crazy but im willing to try anything now
