I attended an info session on this today at SureStart and it sounds very promising. LO even loved the crèche. She had a complete ball it would seem as she didn't even give me a second glance when I went back to collect her  It's great that she was so settled as I was worried she wouldn't because she usually cries when left with anyone else.

So the nurturing programme is all about different approaches to parenting as in discipline, the way you say things and how you come across, confidence, self-esteem and quite a lot of other things. I cat wait to get stuck in. There was never anything like that about 15 years ago when I had my DS.

Pointless post really but just thought I'd share my enthusiasum (and I'm even talking to OH now...well sort of...because I'm all chirpier  ) xx

No hun, totally free whether you work or not. It's all new to me as I wasn't in a SureStart area before I had to move to the area I live in now.

I'm also signed up for Signing Hands course which teaches you to communicate with your baby alongside them developing their words.

If I was you I'd ask them about it hun. In case they need to request funding for the course because there is a free crèche while you're on the course and they give you a free big step by step book that coincides with the course.

Avery absolutely loved the crèche. Usually when I leave her with anyone she cries when I leave, but not today which was brilliant. Means I can relax while there. They get a wee snack and milk while there too which is fab. The crèche staff are excellent. xx

I have just recently finished this course. alot of it was really helpful but I didn't agree with the time out part.
if its the same, you sometimes get to play games too lol. I'm starting another course tomorrow with surestart, the incredable years. all about baby and stuff.

Yeah I think there will be aspects of the course that not everyone will be in agreement with as people have their own parenting styles, and who's to say if it's right or wrong if it works for you as the parent and for your LO too.

The incredible years course sounds interesting. I'm not sure if the SureStart here offers that one...I'll look out for it though ;)

I'll let you know how I get on when I reach the time out part  xx
