Somebody help!

My eldest 2 slept through really quickly. Gabriella however still wakes for milk!

She'll wake at 2 and 5 most nights.

Should I just offer water in the hope she gets bored and gives up trying?!

Hi I was also despairing of ever getting rid of night feed but our lil miss did it herself, she used to properly cry for milk but more recently we had both got into the habit and so now unless she properly cries I leave her even tho suspect she is hungry and she falls back asleep, I have now had 4/5 nights this week where this was the case so fx it happens for you too...some have suggested water but if your LO is like our lil miss that would frustrate her and make her even more hungry...you can try other soothing methods but at the end of the day if they are hungry and telling you they are you have to keep with it...they will wean themselves off eventually...hoping our lil miss has done this now...all of a sudden she went from 6-7 bottles per day one being at night to 5 bottles larger qtys and no night bottle...it just happened....

Bee is 7 months and still wakes for at least 1 (although more usually 2 or 3) night feeds. James slept through from 10w so this is tough for me.

Is she actually hungry when she wakes or looking for comfort? Bee usually has one 'proper' feed overnight but any other wakening are more because she wants comfort.

X

How old is your LO? I've been relatively lucky with two boys who slept through from 8-12 weeks. But if they wake in the night I'd still always offer a feed. Sometimes they still just need it. I always give the dummy first if they wake up and then if they're back up within about an hour I'll feed them.

My baby is still waking 5-6 times in the night at nearly 8 months :(

Gabriella is almost 6.5 months now.

TBH I think I may be able to leave her to settle on one of them but it's easier to give her a bottle. Terrible j know.

I think I'll do a couple of nights in spare room with her to sort it.
Just need other two to be back at school so I can sleep in day of nights are terrible.

Tinselcat-how do you function???!

What time do you feed her before the night feeds kick in? We've been giving our LG a feed 10.30-11pm and keeps her going until around 6am. If she wakes the dummy seems to settle her.

Am currently just existing and have given up doing anything else. I dread night times. I went to the doctor with an earache the other week and he said it was just exhaustion and chided me to sleep when the baby sleeps. Except that's when I have driving lessons etc.

It's such a shame as at 4 months or so he was doing really well, wouldn't cry when he woke up in the night (I'd just hear him chomping his fists instead) and even slept through 11 - 5.30 once! His routine was disrupted around the 5-6 month mark and we have not recovered from that since!

Have you started weaning her yet? I found my daughter used to do the same but as soon as I started weaning her she started sleeping through fine and would only wake for a night feed very occasionally. If she is already weaning try increasing the amount of food given x

I'm sure I woke up more than once at that age.. Wakes about once or twice a night still but sleeps in our room.. I'm sure he'd still atleast wakes once even if he would go into his own room.

I wish that my baby only woke twice at night! Varies between 3-5 times at the moment :(

Yes, we are weaning and upping the food.

I've even started offering her more milk in the day to try to stop her needing it at night.

Yesterday she had:

7.45 milk 7oz
10.30 porridge
11.15 milk 5oz
11.30 sleep
12.10 awake
1.30 banana with milk, almiron biscuit, some of my juice (strawberry, banana, blueberries, coconut yog)
2.30 sleep
3.05 awake
3.45 milk
4.30 rest of milk
4.35 sleep
5.05 awake
7.00 5oz
19.39 5oz
8.00 sleep
10.30 awake, 5oz
11.20 sleep
3.20 awake, 7oz
3.40 sleep
5.30 awake 6oz
8.00 awake, 7oz

She did have dinner but j didn't write it in there!

I used to give my little one a big 7-8oz bottle when she woke up and a mashed up rusk or baby rice/porridge etc an hour later, some kind of snack around 10am, a jar of food at lunchtime (12-1pm time) plus 4-6oz milk, another snack at 3pm and then dinner at 5 and last 8oz bottle at 5.30-6pm then bed by 6.30pm at latest plus 4-5oz milk here and there throughout the day around snack times. Maybe just try adding two extra snacks and see how that goes but sounds like you are doing everything right anyway so may just be a phase she needs to grow out of xx

Thanks.
It's weird asking about it as I've already done it twice, but they both slept!

Every child is different hun, little monkeys. Hope it sorts itself out for you soon so you can get some decent sleep x

Can you try dream feeding her at midnight and she might start skipping the 3.20 feed? We get LO up for a feed at midnight and e still stirs at 3am but I keep giving him a dummy and Ewan the sheep until he gets properly hungry at 5.30am. If I let him feed at 3am he only takes between 1-3oz out of habit, doesn't need it at all. I really hope he stops stirring at 3am shortly as I am pretty much awake the whole time I'm trying to get him to stay asleep!

She usually does feed at around midnight too!

As that's when I usually go to bed i don't mind that one!

Last night she fed at 10.30 then 3.20 then 6.30 then was asleep until 9!

That sounds like a better night, maybe she is gradually adjusting her feeding times herself :) x
