It's our first appointment with the private clinic so hopefully get the answers we really need tomorrow and find out our options etc... It's been a tough few weeks since we found out the news we were dreading but will be good to speak to some real specialists. Feeling a little bit nervous but the clinic looks really nice.

Well we are back and it wasn't really what we expected, it wasn't bad news but wasn't good news either. Basically the consultant recommended us keep trying for a year or 2 still albeit we only have a 5% chance of conceiving naturally there is some chance... As I still have some eggs. Was told not worth checking my amh levels. And if we wish to go down the ivf route will have to have DE which is pretty devastating as they don't do ivf with my own eggs if fsh levels are more than 15. Anyway we have bought every supplement going in superdrug for both of us and spent a fortune on the cb fertility monitor too... I know it won't perform miracles but if we know when I'm most fertile we have a chance of winning this. It is going to be a long tough road ahead and probably quite emotional too... Oh and was recommended I go on a low dose of hrt too...

Also I don't know if anyone on here has experienced any clinics that would use my eggs with a higher fsh level as obviously during this time they are going to deteriorate more, we need to look into everything.. I guess I thought yesterday would start things off even on the private route but were told to see a councillor instead..,

Gosh that's a lot to take in. I dint have any info on other clinics but perhaps it would be worth having another opinion? If might give you a more balanced view or at least make you feel you are doing the right thing for now. Are donor eggs something you would consider? Big hugs xxxx

We would like to try for another opinion but probably somewhere where they would consider trying my eggs. We would look at the DE option but only once everything else is completely written off and we have tried everything to get a baby who is genetically mine think my fiancé is finding things quite hard too.. Understanding the whole DE option. He wants our baby to look like me which is totally understandable. Xxxxx

That really is a lot to take in. I think seeking some other opinions is a good idea. Hopefully some other ladies with more experience of this will comment. May be worth making a new thread specifically about clinics and donor eggs etc xx

I will have a think what to type up and maybe do that. It's a lot to take in especially as we were under the impression nothing would happen naturally but now we have a 5% chance. My cb fertility monitor arrives tomorrow so guess we will get on with that and have a look for other clinics in the meantime that may give us what we are after... I think we will give things a chance naturally as we would absolutely love to have a child who is biologically both of ours. I just long to hold a baby in my arms.... I'm going to completely give up alcohol, not that I drink much anyway ( apart from my hen night and wedding day) and try and be as healthy as possible in the meantime,... I'm also going part-time at work in the summer so that should help reduce my stress levels.

I can relate to that. I'd prefer to have a child that was genetically related to me but would use donor eggs if mine don't work.
Have you read 'The 2 week wait' by Sarah Rayner? Its a fiction about egg sharing and I learnt a lot from reading it!

We would look at donor eggs once everything else has been exhausted xx
