:)

I rely entirely on public transport and my legs to get anywhere.

I can live on £50 a week with a large dog and a cat aswell.

I have a single matress, on the floor.

I have no stove.

I have no oven.

I have no refridgerator.

:)

Is there a reason or just preference?

A mattress on the floor or on the bed is imo the same but with a heavy bump when we did that the night before we moved out and the first night in a new house I have to say it wasn't great!

Refrigerator I couldn't be without! I would say you need one for babies arrival.

Oven hmmmm I don't know theres many other ways to cook - grilling machines, microwave, steamers and slow cookers. Depends on food preferences.

£50 a week on your own I could do on my own too even with a pet, with kids and 'man' nope couldn't lol Is that bills included or do you mean just food.

WTF are you gona do when baby comes?! 50 quid a weeks plenty, I used to support 3 of us on 400 a month, Inc bills and everything!

Thats including bills (Electric, heating, tv liscence etc) just not rent obviously :P

It wasnt initially by choice, But hey I make it work and im happy :)

Fridge is easy to live without, More fresh stuff, And less waste cause I only buy what i know im gonna use in that day.

As for cooking.. Kettle, Slow cooker, Microwave, Toaster, Coffee Machine. Im sorted :)

And whaddya mean what am I gonna do when baby comes? Lol im gonna budge up in bed a bit, and put a bouncer in the living room! :P

Bloody hell!! I couldn't live without my fridge, how would I keep my beer cold

I like my home comforts to much to do without, well, anything!!

How the hell do you survive on £50 a week? Surely the dole even pays more than that!! Xx

Wobbles - ok now im confused, rephrase and clarify!!

Toonlass - Buy them when you want them? If you know your gonna have 3 cans in a night.. Buy three cans that night? Thats what I do with milk :)

As for £50 a week.. Yep the dole pays just above that, But im on income suport, and its currently on appeal as some f**ktard doctor did the last assesment and said I can work. So when you are on appeal, it gets cut RIIIIGHT down to the basic rate. Then if you win, they backdate what you should have had.

Are you planning on getting a fridge when baby comes? Even if you exclusively breastfeed for the 1st year, you're eventually gona need some way of keeping food cold, yoghurts etc! And then when they start on cows milk, that'll need a fridge! You can't just say to baby first thing in the morning hang on for your milk whilst I get us both ready and we go shop! Things really aren't as simple when you have kids! I've got 2 and it rakes me atleast 1/2 hour to get out the house!

You dont need a fridge for milk, it doesnt go off nearly as fast as you think lol I always have milk in, I just dont buy lots a a time, 500ml does me for two days. Same goes for yoghurts, They dont need to be refridgerated unless im buying bulk, which i dont do, I buy what i know im going to eat that day or the next morning.

Long story behind IS, Im supposed to be on DLA and incapacity, But because they are swapping to ESA its all screwed up, and ive been put on IS as a stopover or some shit (ask them, I dont have a clue) and thats why im now on appeal because the assesments for IS are completely different to the assesments for incapacity

I'm with Toon, I couldn't really do without anything  I too love my home comforts xx

I remember being on ESA after my contract ended.. I had to stay on it until I was 11 weeks away from my due date.. I was then put on Income Support because I wasn't "able" in their eyes to be employed and introduced into a new job to be leaving again soon after xxx

i dont think your crazy i was exactaly like that b4 i met chris and didnt hsve amy lol i dont have a kitchen just a bathroom bedroom/livingroom area

Woah! Lol. In all honesty when the baby comes you will need a fridge, I mean what if you can't breast feed. In the long run, you will need one.

If I cant breast feed, then ill express and bottle, or formula feed like anyone else Lol

Well Vixforever, there isnt another feeding method, So yes it does work out like that, If I cant breastfeed, Ill express and bottle, Or formula and bottle..

I could probably live without my bed but wouldn't want to have to as it'd be a bit of a farce me trying to get off a mattress on the floor! Lol x fridge I couldn't live without as I am so paranoid about milk going off plus it works out cheaper for me to buy bulk yogurts than single yogurts for DD (I don't eat yogurt-food of the devil lmao) and I refrigerate quite a bit of my fruit and veg, I also buy in advance for meals that week and freeze leftovers so honestly would be lost without fridge! I also rely completely on public transport and legs to get anywhere even though OH can drive we can't afford a car at the minute and though I see the usefulness and ease of a car I don't miss having one because we've never had one iyswim. Oven I couldn't do without! I love love love cooking and would be lost without my oven but I guess I'd manage if it was me on my own, no way I could manage without it with DD, OH and Seb on the way x if it works for you though then cool x I suppose if someone came in one day and took my fridge, oven and bed then we'd cope and soon adjust!

If you express millk and you can't use it immediately then you will need to either refrigerate it or freeze it - if you don't then bacteria breeds and you can make you baby extremely ill. In the first 6 months at least small babies are very susceptable to stomach infections that can be very dangerous. IMP I think you are a being a little naive in thinking you won't need a fridge - no offence intended :flower:

Rosie's Mummy..

If I was express feeding, Id do it when I needed it.. Anything left over or unused, would be thrown out.
