What about if your baby needs antibiotic suspension and you need to keep it refrigerated? There are lots of reasons for needing refrigeration :)

I wouldnt put that near the rest of my food anyway..
I have one of those tiny blue portable fridges for my meds. Baby's would go in there aswell. Definately not near food..

What about when your baba is screaming or food whilst your trying to express? I get this everyday and I have a fridge but my boobs need time to recover after every express and I'm always a bottle ahead and I still cant keep up so I think your going to struggle no offence or anything at all. I wish I could live on £50 a week lol x

Baby's get into a routine with feeding, And there are many signs that a baby is hungry before it even thinks about making noise, Pre-emptive action, and intuition :)

But as you said, You have a fridge, and you have difficulty, So having a fridge doesnt solve the problem! Fact is you cant feed directly on demand with formula or express babies, and thats a drawback to those methods.

Mamafy - Im not adverse to a fridge, I wouldnt mind being able to stay in bed all day and not fuss about having to get stuff from the shops for dinner cause I would already have it..

But I have a dog that needs to go out regularly, And fridges consume electricy like no ones business, so that would put my bills up, and then if it broke down.. Yeah I dont want one at the moment.

Just want to say expressing as you feed is such hard work, I done it with my lil man for 17 weeks. Tbh I couldn't imagine not needing a fridge even for myself let alone a baby especially in warm weather :/

I'm failing to see why you wouldn't have these things although I know its none of my business either

I see your point about energy but you have internet? :eh:

I find it hard because it's impossible to keep up with the feeds I always have left over milk I refrigerate and use then she screams for more expressing on demand is really hard and if you over do it everything gets sore and stops working trust me! Livs had to have a couple of formula feeds because my boobs dried up for hours.

Without wanting to sound harsh, I think you need to wake up and smell the coffee! Yes fridges consume electricity, but i fail to see how you can not have a fridge when you have a baby! Yes in an ideal, hypothetical world we'd be able to preempt feeds and could pump in advance, but te reality is babies are unpredictable! They take up so much time and it's not always possible to express cos you're doing other things with them! Plus pumps aren't as effective at draining boob as babies are so you may have to express in stages and add to a suply to be able to get enough milk!

Meeah - But again, Thats not a problem that is solved by a fridge. Lol thats just a problem with the method.

Mamafy - I get my internet connection for free :) And I dont have them because I dont need them.

Me, My girls & I,

Sure they are unpredictable, but again that isnt something you can solve with a fridge Lol. And expressing/formula feeding is a backup if I cant breastfeed, Im not planning to do them.

I cant wait to see when this baby comes lol, you make it sound so simple lol just wait 3 oclock in the morning and baby is screaming for feed a fridge will really come in handy

I dont think you can predict what happens when you have a baby. My milk disappeared from 4 months and I had to switch to formula. If I didnt have a fridge to keep my bottles of cooled water in for the day I think I would have torn my hair out from running them under cold water - babies dont like to wait when they are hungry and its mega stressful trying to get their milk ready under conditions where they are screaming the house down and you are zonk out tired - I remember in the middle of the night feeds..so easy and quick, 40 seconds in the microwave, add the formula and that was it. I cannot imagine having to start from scratch every time for a feed, boiling water, cooling it down etc etc..it makes me shudder to think!

RM the same happened to me! I'm assuming the free Internet involves wireless somewhere down the line!

I just can't imagine living without a fridge - all those food items that you can't store; ice cold juice..cheese!

Also if you're on ablimited budget, surely it's far more cost effective to buy in bulk?!

how do you charge your phone/laptop/computer to get on the net? does that not need electricity too?

I couldn't manage without a fridge but I guess they did years ago hey?!

Just coz 99.9% of the population of the civilised world has a fridge doesn't mean we sit on our arses all day and don't go to shops or walk our dogs. I wish life and raising children was as simple as you dream it to be!! Xx
