So I started spotting after IUI on CD23, more of a bloody flow Saturday 7th which got heavier and full blown AF arrived Wed/ Thurs. I'm STILL cramping up bad and bleeding. This is the longest I've bled, 9 days xxxx

Oh hun I don't know. Maybe its all the injections messing up your cycle like what climid can do? When is ur next doc appt?

Awww chaz i dont really know. It does seem exessive though. Could it be due to the drugs?? x

Aww poor you Chaz, I still feel your problems are being ignored, I think there must be something stopping things working out, I don't think it's that you don't ovulate, I think it must be related to your heavy periods, possibly endo, I really think a second opinion is the answer, I'd even do that before doing iui again, even if it just gives you peace of mind.

Xx

Hun i cant give any advice sorry, all i can say is i know how you feel. Mine only lasted 2 days which just isnt right at all!! I really think maybe has a point that something has been missed somewhere. I hope you get some answers soon xxxx

How would you go about getting a 2nd opinion for diagnostics on the NHS? I agree with you Maybe, I don't wanna waste my IUI chances. I think all this must be to do with the Menopur, I was worse on clomid annd they do a similar thing xxx

Hi Chaz, I'm assuming you're under a fertility clinic, I would go and have a chat with your GP explain your thoughts and ask to also be referred to general gynaecology to find out what's going on with your periods, although my NHS experience was crap, I did find that the recurrent miscarriage, and fertility and also the colposcopy clinics were quite closely connected and some times the same docs worked for both clinics so could together.

Really what I would be hoping for is a hysteroscopy to look inside your uterus done at the same time as a laperoscopy to check for endo and other things stopping you getting preggers.

You know what I'd do as well, seen's as your on a natural cycle I'd check your progesterone so use opks and do the bloods with your gp 7 day after a positive opk.

Hope you're feeling better too :)

Xx

I totally agree with Maybe Chaz that you do have a lot of endo symptoms.

The hormones that make your lining thicker will also inflame the endo and you really need it addressing. No one should bleed heavy for 9 days and suffer as much pain as you do if they have nothing wrong with them.

You don't necessarily have to go private for a second opinion. Go and see your GP and explain the situation and ask if they can arrange an appointment with a different fertility consultant than you already saw.

Make sure you tell them in detail what you go through...

If it is endo it could be blocking your tubes when it flares up and if you do get pregnant you will be high risk of ectopic and you could lose a tube.

They can remove endo and although it tends to grow back it will give you a window to conceive safely xx

I'm booking in with my GP (I say MY I have no idea who it is as I'm new to the area, so a female) next Friday when I'm off again.

Its eased off now but sex was a little painful and OH felt awful. Clomid was like this too, and your info LouiseB makes sense as to why I bloated up when AF came to the point my fat pants were too small :(

OH is supportive on a second opinion. I don't wanna waste all our IUI chances if there is another issue that's not been addressed xxx

Ohh hun I am really pleased to hear you are going back to see your GP, your heavy painful periods arent normal and its best to get it all checked out first before continuing on with another IUI cycle xx

Good luck friday chaz, hope you get some answers or at least are listened to xxx

Just been on to the website thanks itsbabytime.Info on there very helpful, ill get all my cycles written up so i can show her the pain and heaviness, and ill ask for a referral. If i need to ill tell the ACU ill be leaving my next IUI till June. O

The 1 other symptom that stands out from reading the site is painfull bowel movements when having a period, and bloating up massivly xxx

A bit random but are you sure the bleeding is coming from your vag and not your bum?

Appointment booked, 8.30 Friday 27th. Booked in with a female so she can hopefully have some form of compassion. Gives me plenty of time to document my cycles since I began TTC and they got worse. From reading the Endometriosis site it can take up to 8 years to get diagnosed :( xxxx

Right.....still been getting mild cramps today, and when in shower a had a mooch and discovered a humongous clot/ lining. Totally gross, and glad it was me who found it and not OH whilst BD :( I'm not leaving next week till she referres me!!!! Xxx

Glad to help. My sister has endo and it took her about 5 years to get a diagnbosis. She was messed abouit by her gp from about the age 14 and put on the pill and left like that till she was 20 and was told 'its just one of those things'. Faat forward to when she was 20 she was having constant pain and bleesding so finally got referred to a gynae who scanned her and did a laporoscopy and found patches of endo over nearly all of her reproductive organs. She now goes every 2 years or so for a lap to get it all lasered/scraped out (there is no way of stopping it growing back) and she also has an iud that stops her bleeding completely. It is just so shcking how lazy gp's can be. I hope u get it sorted out x
