** September 2014 Mummies! **

Crackers, sorry to hear your dads family turned their backs because they believed someones lies!
I can totally relate though, as my mum and dad split when I was young, and he eventually got together with this woman who never had any kids and so put alot of pressure on me and my brother to be very family-ish when we were there!
Anyway, she was basically a bit of a fruit cake and seemed mainly interested in my dad for money, he didnt have much, but if she could get out of paying the bills etc she would!
When he got terminally ill about 3 years ago, she never did anything to encourage him to seek medical help, she didnt look after him when he couldnt look after himself (so I had to whilst doing my degree, alone because I was the nearest family) and then she tried to get involved with applying for his benefits and stuff, and he refused and told me he didnt want her involved because she was a money grabber etc.
She was so pissed off with this she just upped and left him totally, and then the night before he died, turned up at the house and starting looking all over for money and telling him she would be glad when he was dead and it turned out had been telling him for months I was only caring for him because I wanted his money!!!! How horrible! (he actually didnt have any money to his name, dont think she knew that!) He died the next day, my family arranged the whole funeral and were incredibly civil towards her because we knew she was basically batty and unstable. But afterwards, because I didnt stay in touch (obviously) even though I was polite and never said anyhting nasty to her about her actions, she went round telling everyone laods of lies and horrible stuff about me, and wouldnt let her be involved in the funeral arrangments etc even though she didnt want to!

Families eh, who have em!! Haha!! xx

crackers i have requested to follow you on instagram as that and twitter are the only things i have! i'm nicolestoney on there - anyone else feel free to add me but no mention of team blue please!

hmm kanga, that's quite rude isn't it? glad you deleted it though, may of saved some agro!

what's v day girls?

that's great climbingrose, im still not feeling strong or frequent movements but i have seen a couple of kicks on the outside, nothing i can capture on camera or anyone else can see yet but i can tell lol. that's also a really nice way to look at your friends situation!

happy 23 weeks sarah.

we have just bought a new tele! it looks great on our wall, perfect size. we had a 32" and in our new home it's mounted on a chimney breast type wall, and just looked incredibly tiny. so i ordered a 46" tv last night! looks spot on.

tomorrow, i'm off to see one of my friends and her baby, with my close friend who i asked to be godmother to little september baby this weekend - we sent her a card and about an hour after we'd both got home from work i got sent a picture of her crying and the caption 'OMG YES!!!!!!!!' hahaha  other than that, we have no plans. hopefully it will stay warm - though i think OH will sit on my xbox all weekend with the new tv , lol. xx

Yes NDS!! I have a 50 inch that I bought before being pregnant and so happy I have it now as nights out are now nights in! :)

V day is viability day, and if you give birth at 24 weeks the doctors have to do everything they can to save him/her.

Omg crackers and climbing rose and I thought my family was horrible! Sorry ypu have such weird ones too. I suppose at least lies aren't being said down here although I'm sure everyone has their own versions of whats happened over the years.

We have a huge tv too, I love it wouldn't be able to have a 32inch one! Think our bedroom one is bigger than that lol xx

oh holy crap okay lol thanks soph! 50" is too big for us, the 46" is spot on!

the 32" was the biggest either of us ever had but we've wanted a new one for a while anyway then we moved here and it looked a bit silly and the new one was reduced by £200 so that kinda sold it for us! i can see this one without having to put my glasses on ahaa. we don't have a bedroom tv never has interested us, but we may end up putting the 32" up there..

ahh just had chicken and chorizo pasta, was yummy! xxx

Agreed climbingrose - families are just weird ha ha! I have to look at it all from a distance still if I'm honest, as it's only just over a year since he died and I can't believe he never made peace. But life goes on, and is way too short to dwell.

Thanks nds!
Love the TV! A new one is on our list of things to get after we move....but the list is long ha ha!

Can imagine that must be quite raw still crackers... :(

Yes Kanga families are all weird and wonderful, im always so shocked, and at the same time comforted to hear most peoples are as strange as my own haha.

Wow you guys have all got MASSIVE tv's!! I wont show the OH this convo, we dont really watch TV, but download stuff to the laptop and watch it in bed. Hes been nagging me for AGES for a big screen TV but I keep saying no. In reality it would be a waste for us because we just dont watch it.. and I like it that way myself. He keeps saying we'll need one 'for the baby' hahahaha. Maybe I'll allow it when the baby arrives if we've got any pennies left over, could be useful as I'll no doubt be around the house a bit more and being able to watch a bit of crap wouldnt be a bad thing. xx

On a foody note, just ate a lime with the same enjoyment as eating cake. OH was looking at me with concern haha.

Hello All,

Apologies for being absent a while - work has got in the way again! Got midwife 25 week appointment on Tuesday (even tho i'll be 24 weeks!), so will be off work for the day which means I can chill out and do work from home to keep up to date.

Kanga - Sorry to hear about the family situation. My family are terrible, always falling out. I'm trying to organise a 30th Wedding Anniversary afternoon tea at mine for my parents in 2 weeks and my siblings are bleedin' nightmare, you'd think I was trying to create world peace. I could do without being chief organiser as I've got so much on at work! I'm managing to keep up but only because I'm doing lots at the weekend to prepare for the weekend ahead, so I have less to do once I get home at night. That said, once I get to end of June I'm going to be on paperwork duty rather than actively teaching due to nature of the pupils. Just got to keep going until their GCSE exams in 2 weeks!!

This weekend we have no great plans. OH is going out with his footy team tonight, so I shall be eating sweets and a takeaway before cracking on with work. Before then we're going to spend a few hours together at the local retail park and have some lunch, once Sainsbury's have arrived with this weeks food order and OH is awake. Eeeek @ the amount of food that seems to have involved haha!

Alipops xx

thanks! haha yeah, our list was long too - we bought it on finance so we just pay weekly for it. crackers.

climbingrose, yeah, a bigger tv for maternity leave/baby may be quiet nice.. we're going to order sky over the weekend i think, and baby tv will come in useful in a few months i'm sure!

sweets and takeaway sound good to me. so does shopping and lunch! alipops xx

Baby TV will most definitely come in handy nds!

Ali food sounds good. I can't bring myself to move just yet, think I've caught dd's snot germs...ugh. Need to get to the shops for last bits for her birthday party next week though!

I'm chilling on the sofa too, trying to stay awake. Done my 2nd night shift last night and back in tonight :( Feel bad that I didn't hear Harry until 10am! He was in his cot happily kicking away at the headboard lol but still feel bad he was provably awake for an hour - hour and a half!

Nic as for baby tv, I have no idea what normal tv is like lol cbeebies is on constantly here, not that Harry watches it constantly though xx

haha definitely! i've just got home from a day with friends, been really lovely.

i feel sick, i want to bath and bed lol.

you sound like you're working loads kanga! xxxx

I feels like it too Nic :( going to have worked 6 shifts over 8 days and a total of 60 hours :( Also going in early tonight as the guy who is on at the mo is poorly, so in at 8:30pm instead of 10pm and still got to stay til 6am :( Not back in til Thursday night after tonight though so just concentrating on that lol

Hope you feel better soon, but glad you've had a good day. xx

wow that's awful :( hope it's not too bad for you. rest well for the week then! thankyou, i'm fine now i've had a bath and i'm in pyjamas! xxx

Wow what a long night! Finally back home and can't wait to go to bed. Never doing a 10 hour shift like that again, especially after a long week.

Good to hear your bath and pj's made you feel better Nic, think I deserve a nice long bath later xx

can't imagine. sounds horrible! sure you do, rest well xx

i've just been thinking about mat leave, think i'm gonna go on it at 33 weeks - i was struggling by then last time, and by 36 weeks when i actually went on mat leave, i was more than ready! i know it means 6 weeks less with baby but i'll deal with that, rather be home comfortable, not straining and staying organised and sane than at work struggling! so that means only 12 more weeks at work yay! can you tell i can't wait to be off again? :X i'm already getting rib pain, only 21 weeks (happy 21 to me and soph by the way) not really got a big bump either so i really think i will be struggling in a few weeks! :(

have a lovely sunday everyone, can't believe it's monday tomorrow already :( the weather is dreadful here so looks like we'll be staying in, or maybe going to the in-laws for tea.

OH is really fed up with the dog this weekend :( he's being really rubbish and it's so stressful, for us both but i lose my patience much quicker. :( xx

Happy 21 weeks to myself and NDS! Happy 22 weeks Amy Louise?

I have no idea when I am going on maternity leave. Work want an expected date but I haven't decided. My collegue worked until 36 or 37 weeks and left on the Friday and she gave birth on the Monday. That scares me! I don't want my waters to break at work.

I guess I will have to see, I want to work until as late as possible but it is my first pregnancy so it's difficult to know how I am going to feel and at which point I will be ready to go.....
