** September 2014 Mummies! **

I really don't blame you hun, must have been a huge worry! He certainly is a naughty boy giving all this grief.

Must head out to work now :( xx

Night night sept mummies, have a good Saturday, I will be enjoying my bed lol xx

Morning ladies,

Kanga and Lilmiss - hope you both feel better soon.

Wedding dresses are a total pain pregnant or not I found - I was stressed whole time about fitting into mine!

Our 20 week scan was brilliant - very clear and deffo a boy! Measuring as expected although long - husband is a tall 6ft4 and a bit so not surprised there! Bought some beautiful clothes from Verbaudet which came yest along with free changing bag. Family still don't know we know he's a boy - my side can't decide what to guess while mother in law says mostly boy, father in law convinced girl! Xx

hope you feel better soon lilmiss.. yikes! i can imagine those words were scary yes.

how exciting ashee! i'm excited for you..

kanga happy 19 weeks. this pg isn't very nice to you is it?! feel better soon.

glad the scan went well alipops!

i went to bed feeling awful - a mixture of sickness and just belly ache.. i felt like i was going to throw up at any minute, but then sharp pains would appear. so trying to get comfy in bed wasnt really happening, tried being on my front but with my knees up, nope the sharp pain was then reaaally sharp made me say ow out loud. i managed to fall asleep on my right side for a couple of hours, only to be woken to enjoy some wonderful sickness and diarrhea.. not. and now i feel fine, strange.

i had a late fry up, nothing i've not eaten this pg yet.. then before bed i had a barm with some tikka sandwich filler on - could of been that? was just random, not the sickness - i assumed that was from eating something baby didnt want lol, but the other bit? xx

Hi ladies

I have been absent all week as I have just come back from France. Unfortunately my auntie (also my godmother) passed away. I have been away for her funeral and I am so heartbroken. I just don't understand the unfairness of the world that we live in.

I have tried to keep it together to not stress my baby bean but I am sure he has been stressed as hell this week too.

:(

sophia this world is one hell of a cruel place.
i'm so sorry to hear about your auntie :( i hope you and your family have the love and support you need to get each other through a horrible time. lots of hugs xxxxxxx

soph so sorry to hear that honey. If you ever need a virtual hug you know where we are.

Baby will be fine, stressed or not. I had 2 quite close bereavements when preg with dd (20wks and 34wks) and she was fine. Don't stress yourself more by thinking you cant grieve!

Take care sweetheart xxx

So sorry to hear your sad news Soph, losing someone is always so hard, but cant imagine what it must be like whilst worrying about your little one too :(
Big hugs xxxx

So sorry to hear your sad news Soph. Don't worry about your little bean, he'll be fine all tucked up, and be kind to yourself xx
Hope your feeling better now nic after your dicky tummy. My OH was the same the other night, woke me up at 3am whining like a dog on the loo. That man has no pain threshold at all lol. :)

Well, yesterday's wedding was lovely. The bride was beautiful and it was such a nice day. They also announced at the end if the grooms speech that she is pregnant again! What a lovely way to announce your pregnancy. Was really lovely.
Plus I managed to keep my heels on all day and didn't feel too much like a lump lol. Good times :)

How's everyone doing today? It's miserable up here....raining, raining, raining. Perfect day to watch the goonies and eat more Easter eggs....I will melt them all down soon...they've got to go before I'm 20 stone heavier lol x

Morning Ladies,

First of all - Soph, sorry to hear about your news, take the time you need to grieve and I'm sure baby will be fine.

I'm 22 weeks today, we had our 20 week scan on Friday - everything is looking as it should and baby is long, but my husband is 6ft5 so you'd expect that! We also knew anyway from an earlier gender scan that we're expected a little boy, although we have kept this a secret from all family and friends - making them wait it out, I must admit it does make me laugh at the amount of girl guesses, thankfully the scan pictures gave nothing away!

At the hospital on Friday, I also got my MATB1 form - which somehow makes things seem more real. As I'm a teacher things work slightly differently. I will have the summer holidays, as we break up on 23rd July (i'll be 35 weeks), I am then off for summer hols until my due date of 31st August from which maternity leave will start. This is good, as it means I'm paid as normal over the holidays. As a result, we can afford for me to be off from July to July, therefore by time I go back baby will be about 10 months old, i'll go in for 2/3 weeks in July 2015, then have 6 weeks summer hols on normal pay.

Anyone have any idea when you should start organising childcare? My sister in law is due back at work in November and is struggling to find a place anywhere! So, it's going me thinking - I'm going back to work 4 days a week, my mum is going to babysit 3 afternoons, my cousin is a childminder so she's going to do 3 mornings and then baby will go to my husband's work's nursery for one day a week, that's the theory but like I say we have not confirmed anything.

Has anyone looked into paternity leave yet? My hubbie got the policy the other day and it's interesting. £136 and a bit of change per week, if he's having 2 weeks they must be taken together and the leave can't start until the baby is actually born.

We have no real plans for today, except chilling out. I have work to do but have left my memory stick at work, which has really annoyed me - only realised yesterday but I'm going to do what I can from memory!

Hi Alipops, I'm also a teacher, so it works out great that baby is dur middle of Sept, so I finish on 25th July, mat leave starts 1st Sept (unless I have her earlier than that) so get paid for the hols, we can probably afford for me to be off till Easter, will go back the week before Easter (so get paid for Easter hols) then as deputy, will not have a class (Primary and head doesn't want disruption for the children) so will do PPA cover etc till summer, then back in a class in September!

I have already started looking at https://www.childcare.co.uk/ as some child minders are booked up and want certain ones, plus in our area, child minders som anyway also offer term time only which is ideal, if I can save on 13 weeks a year!

Good luck!

Awh I wish I was a teacher now lol!!! Being self employed and owning your own shop really isn't ideal for maternity leave! Having to put loads of money asides now to pay shop bills while I'm off! It is a little worrying!

Morning ladies,

Just been catching up - Soph sorry to hear your sad new, I hope you are doing ok.

I cannot believe it is Sunday already and back to work tomorrow, I feel my energy and concentration levels are so low at the moment - wish it was time for maternity leave already!

Going on from what Vicky and Alipops were saying - when are the rest of you thinking of starting maternity leave?

emma, glad to hear the day went well - bet it was lovely! do you have a picture of what you wore, i'd love to see if you do.. what a lovely announcement! congratulations to her.

easter eggs sound good to me.. i'm doing alright just really at the end of my tether with this dog.. (i'm sure he can sense when i write something horrible about him, hes now hidden under the table going to sleep) .. relatively nice weather up here, its dry and the sun is out but its not very warm.. are you well today? :)

how are you finding keeping it a secret alipops? i've slipped up once whilst in conversation with my dad - he says he didn't hear me but i'm positive he did.. glad everything went well at the scan! happy 22 weeks. your mat leave sounds like it's worked out really well.. paternity leave not terribly good - hubby is taking two weeks holiday instead, so he'll get paid normally.

happy 19 weeks fellow mango, soph!
happy 20 weeks vicky78!

i can't believe it either kathy82, just counting down the days until friday though as it is scan day! haha i haven't even thought about my mat leave yet to be honest.. i worked until 36 weeks last time, i planned on working until 37 but had to go to hospital pregnancy related so was automatically signed off onto maternity leave.. but by 36 weeks i really was struggling - tiny girlie on my feet all day, trying to nurse (do you know how difficult it is trying to lean over to suck saliva out of someones mouth with a huge bump?! lol), i was struggling with my feet and back mostly, along with being incredibly tired, so i may even finish earlier this time - even though i know baby will be arriving from 39 weeks..

trying to weigh it all up and figure out when i should start to be honest..
when are you finishing? xxx

Alipops and vicky I am also a teacher. Due 22nd sept so starting maternity the first teaching day back in sept. I am hoping to return in July and just work a few week until the holidays, I don't know what I will be doing when I return but covering ppa etc makes sense rather than being back in class for a few weeks.
I haven't been given my matb1 form yet and don't see midwife until 28weeks which is far too late, I think I will have to make a phone call or enquire at hospital at the 20week scan.
As for childcare my son already goes to my mums, who is a childminder, whilst I work ft. Luckily he starts school nursery in sept which means I can do the school runs whilst on maternity then my mum will be having the baby when I return and maybe drop off/pick up my son from school.
Having a september baby as a teacher is absolutely perfect and I am so glad baby was conceived when planned :-D

Very true kcjc - September baby is ideal for work, I think my work are extra pleased because I'm not coming back until July, it means they can get someone in on a years contract, so easier to staff my maternity. I wasn't expected my MATB1 form at my hospital scan, I thought I'd have to wait later for community midwife - so definitely work asking or making a phone call. I've attempted to work out what money i'll receive per month but my maths isn't great so hoping payroll will give me a breakdown to help me budget!

I must admit my concentration/effort at work does dip every now and again, my mind is focussed on maternity leave and baby rather than work. Also, it knackers me out so much I get frustrated!!

NDS: we've not had too many slip ups, we still discuss the odd girls names to keep them off the scent haha. Plus, everything we're buying is neutral - aside from clothes but we've hidden them until he's here. I still giggle inside when people guess girl! Also, being able to talk about 'him' on here helps.
