My daughters almost 3 and I've noticed this on her arms. Like a purple pin prick
Rash/marks. It doesn't change at all

with the glass test. But she is absolutely fine in herself.
Anyone any idea what this is? I've already contacted 111 who suggested she sees the GP (booked in for 11).

Looks like a petechia type rash (like burst blood vessels under the skin). It's great she's fine in herself and could be to do with a viral infection and/or if she's had any cold like symptoms recently it can stem from that. I'm sure it's totally innocent but always best to let a GP cast an eye over it. Let us know how you get on xx

Forgot to update sorry. Been in A&E all day as a precaution. Just got home now. Bloods have been checked etc and she's fine. They think it must be related to a virus. But to take her back if she gets a temperature or the rash gets worse. Xx

I'm glad they checked her over hun. They usually are cautious over a non blanching petechia rash, I'm glad it all looks innocent though! Hope she's doing okay xxx

Just to update..
Early hours of Friday morning she started with a temp. By 9am the temp wouldn't go down with both ibuprofen & paracetamol. We went to A&E and are now back on the children's ward. She has a very sever urine infection white blood cell count was 1700 meant to be <40. She also has a throat infection. Her temps keep going to 40 even with paracetamol/ibuprofen. And we're struggling to keep it down. 2nd night in hospital. They're doing blood & urine cultures and are treating her for sepsis. Spoke to the doctor last night and he thinks she has something else on top of the urine&throat infection because of the peaks in her temp and the rash plus new small bruises appearing. She's being tested for meningitis, sepsis, clotting disorders etc. Just to add.. when we came in on Thursday they checked all her bloods and she had no sign of infection. Whatever it is (including the throat & urine) had came on during the night. Xx

Oh god hun that's terrible. How is she this morning? Sounds like she's being well taken care of. And because the body gave a warning sign with the rash you acted so quickly!

I hope you're both okay xx

We're fine thanks. She's perked up loads. She's still having temperatures but they are controllable now. Still waiting on the cultures and some bloods have been sent to Manchester (meningitis specialist). But things are looking up. Been told she will have to stay in until Wednesday so she will have 5 days worth of antibiotics. But as long as they work I don't care :) bit hard being away from my 5 month old. But Emmy is a mummy's girl and there's no way she will let me go. Only probably is i EBF and until now Keira hasn't taken a bottle. She's fighting it but it's a case of needs must. Xx

Sorry hun just catching up on this. How's emmy doing now? Did your other little girl settle okay without you? Hope you're all at home and everything is much better! Xx
