Evie was totally fine with her inhaler last week and this week she won't entertain it. She screams till she goes purple when she sees the thing. It's impossible to pin her down when she's thrashing around...and now I can't even do it in her sleep because the noise of the inhaler is like a trigger that wakes her up (i've tried putting her music on as a distraction - didn't work)

I have no idea why she's suddenly started going mental over it

OH and I have used it so she can see it's ok. We've played with it...made stupid noises into it...believe it or not she's happy for it to go over her face and make noises into it but as soon as the inhaler is squeezed she goes psycho

HELP!!!!

Oh gosh that is odd for her to be ok one week and not the other, why dont you let her have the entire thing to play with. She wont be able to pump it as my 4 year old cant. So shes quite safe unless shes the hulk in a baby body!

Keep doing what your doing by playing with it and showing her its ok, and Im sure she will be ok with it soon!

Reasurre her all the time!!!

I let Angel play with hers quite alot. Although she doesn't have it very often. She tells me when she's ready and takes it off her face when she's had enough. All i do is squirt, she holds it on and i can walk away. Then she plays with it til she's bored.

Lil miss doesn't have to use hers at the moment unless she gets another cold and cough ... but omg the battles we had trying to get her to take it... at first she freaked out the second week she was ok, but wouldn't keep it on for longer than a few seconds... so we always ended up one of us pinning her down and holding her head, while the other squirted the inhaler... Little minx can hold her breath too if she wants... that was another tactic of hers  So you'd have to hold her down long enough where she has to gasp for breath and breath in the inhaler

Jared was prescribed an inhaler yesterday, what a nightmare! went back to see the gp who specialises in asthma today and he said inhalers for babies is very hit and miss, so he is now on a course of prednisolone (steroid) for 5 days :?

xx
