I am so lucky Hannah is ok after what she went through.... It was touch and go apparently to start with with her nervous system... I was oblivious thank god cos I was so ill. Xxx
I cant see why not tbh .. are you planning on having next baby in hospital ?? I could maybe understand they might not want you to deliver there which you dont want anyways so i cant see why you couldnt spend a while in the pool seeing as you're in hospital if anything goes wrong you can be seen to almost immediately? x
I used the pool during my labour i found it really good but baby was abck to back and it all got too much so i got out to get some stronger pain relief as you can only have gas and air. I would definately do it again and pray really hard for no back to backs
haha well i didnt use the gas and air when i was in it first then after i got out things went up a notch or two but i think the pool and gas and air could be heaven ! Stay positive chick second is always meant to be better and know that you are so much stronger for going thru what you did and so much more prepared for the next baby
Doh, of course, I forgot. We had very similar labours didn't we.
I think they will be very positive when you speak to someone that this won't be repeated so chances are you'll get a pool birth. The key to it will be you being able to relax though I bet so you need to be reassured that if there are signs of a repeat they can deal with it promptly to avoid it happening again.
I try not to think about it all now tbh. The thought of it makes me shudder a bit. I don't care about me particularly, but things could have been much worse for my little Matilda moo
I can understand why it was so scary for you. I would ask the doctor about if you are at higher risk of it happening again or if it was just unfortunate circumstances. Maybe you could say that you want to try a natural birth but want them to do a CS if there is any question things are not going well, it sounds like you would have been fine if they had just done a CS sooner.
Can you not ask your GP to refer you to gynae under and ob/gyn consultant so you can discuss before you get pregnant. I wouldn't be put off by an elective section, although mine was semi elective it was a terrific experience and I was up and about after they took the catheter out the next day. I'm glad it hasn't put you off for life hun xxx
I had a long horrible labour with dd, not as bad as your's though, you poor thing sounds awful! I was set on having a c section next time too. I spoke to the mw that came to see me after the birth and she refered me for a 'debriefing' at the hospital with a senior mw. This helped me immensely, she went through the whole labour and explained to me why it was so lengthy and painful. From that day I decided to go natural and now I'm expecting number two, I definitely don't want a c section, especially as I have a 22 month old who still needs picking up etc, all of which I couldn't do after a sec.
Every labour is different and just because you had a horrendous time last time, that doesn't mean you will this time. Your first labour is usually the worst. Speak to your gp about being refered for a debriefing hun, I highly recommend it x x
