October Mummies!

Congratulations @CharleneEmma, it's a very exciting time.

No, this is not my first at all. As my name suggests I have quite a few children already, 8 to be precise *smiles*. I've had a few unsuccessful pregnancies as well though so this is pregnancy 13.

@Natalie8964 it's nice that you will have cousins around the same age. In my last pregnancy I had 2 sister in laws pregnant at the same time as me with their babies due 3 and 4 months behind me. It was especially nice to share that pregnancy and newborn stage with them.
Wow 8 babies ok so you give us girls with no babies yet a vote of confidence that it’s not all that bad ha.
I am one of 6 myself and love a big family, bet it’s mayhem in your house hold (i love that)
Congratulations on your next pregnancy aswell. I’m 9 weeks tomorrow just counting down the weeks now to my 12 week scan....ekkk x

Is anyone else starting to get a littler nervous about the Coronavirus whilst pregnant? I know they say we shouldn’t be too concerned but there’s so little research or knowledge yet that I’m feeling a little on edge...

Absolutely! I wasn’t worried at all but as times going on I’m getting scared. I didn’t want to be one of those people but we did buy some tinned soup etc at shopping yesterday, just in case! I’ve got my first midwife appointment at hospital on Tuesday, feeling a bit anxious about going there x

I'm not nervous about getting it. What I am worried about is mass hysteria and supermarkets letting people clear shelves, leaving nothing for people who actually need it. I'm in disbelief that people have actually been allowed to stockpile toilet roll, soap and pasta. I'm doing my usual weekly shop tomorrow and had no plans to buy anything outside the norm, but now I'm getting anxious, not just for me but for people who are vulnerable and need supplies the most. I think we should be taking it seriously, but the panic buying has to stop!

I’m not too worried as it doesn’t seem pregnant women are particularly at risk. I also work from home anyway so reduce the risk. We did keep our son off nursery on Friday though as a couple of families are being tested for it. Panic buying is ridiculous, am getting so frustrated as there are vulnerable people who will genuinely need supplies. People are being too selfish.

I am so over the panic buying. I'm not super worried about the virus but at the same time I don't want to catch it in tri 1 as they don't know for sure if it can cause any birth defects or not.

I’m the same @Natalie8964 I’ve been doing my usual online shop at Tesco but couldn’t get any loo roll or hand wash. Loads of my items where substituted for the cheapie versions and I ordered some calpol and they send bloody cough medicine as a substitute! So covered if my daughter gets a cough but not if she has a temp! FML!

I felt really quite chilled about the whole thing up until recently. I think it’s just the fever element of it that’s getting to me...they can be pretty dangerous for the baby in the first trimester and cause some nasty side effects so think I’m just worried about that side of things. From what I’ve read the research is super limited (obviously being a new virus) and the only evidence they have is from pregnant ladies in their third trimester!

I really hope my grandparents are going to be ok...I keep having nightmares about it :( xx

I’m nervous about it. I’m in America, in South Carolina and they just shut the schools down today until at least March 31. I had to take my 7 year old to an urgent care today and found out she has strep throat but there was another child there who had a terrible cough and was wearing a mask so I feel nervous of us being exposed to something. My mom also texted me earlier she has a temp of 99.8. I’m just going to stay home. I told my husband we can’t go out anymore unless we absolutely have to.

I woke up at 3am with a splitting headache. Felt dizzy, also have a blocked up ear and nose! I probably could have gone to work but I called in. I'm not usually one to be anxious about this kind of thing but I'm started to worry about being in my first trimester and potentially getting it, as I'm hearing that having a high temp can affect the baby. I work in a large office, people desk share, the cleaners leave a lot to be desired at the best of times plus some of the staff are like animals! I'm going to see how this week unfolds but may well just self cert for the week! Hope everyone else is ok!

Sorry your feeling so rubbish, hopefully your feeling a bit better after a day at home. I’ve just got in from work, been feeling pretty rough myself today. Feeling sick and dizzy. First midwife appointment tomorrow!!! X

Hi ladies, pregnant women being urged to take extra care and avoid social contact. No evidence of danger to us but it’s just as a precaution!

I'm taking the rest of this week and next week off and isolating myself. Having had a miscarriage last year I dont care how small the risk is, I'm not taking it if they're telling me I should avoid social contact, then surely I shouldn't be in an office full of people and germs!

Just seen this on the news too! My workplace doesn’t even know I’m pregnant yet! Don’t really know how this is going to work out! :|

We're being told to self isolate for 12 weeks ladies, I messaged my boss, he said he will double check with his boss but he thinks I will have to have 12 weeks off work. God knows how I'm gonna feed my kids and pay my bills lol

It’s my day off tomorrow anyway but I’ll ring my tomorrow. I’m sure she’ll say it’s up to me if I work but I’m a teacher so don’t really want to risk it. Can’t think of anything worse then staying in with a toddler! Not sure what will happen with my scan on Thursday. :-(

I spoke to my friends hubby who is a gynea and he said antenatal clinics are still running, but as pregnant women we should only really be leaving the house to go to those

Seriously tho what are we ment to do? Self employed hairdresser with mortgage & bills to pay
It’s a scary time girls xx
