Not great.

Possibly a MC. They'd expect to see more at 6+2... they can see the sac but no embryo yet. So either my dates are wrong and im earlier than i thought OR im miscarrying. Got to go back next friday for another scan - there may be an embryo there then.

That 6+2 is spot on according to my last period - obviously conception and ovulation could vary = as it's guesswork.

Oh no. I hope it's a case of being earlier than you thought. My friend has a scan recently and she thought she was 10 days further along than she was and her scan two weeks later showed everything was OK. Hopefully, it's the same for you for next week's scan.

Well ive been scrutinising dates - and its calculated on 1st day of last period which im sure was 31st jan. Which works out 6+2... so i cant see how the dates are wrong.

Obviously ovulation and conception can vary, but the period date cant be wrong,

My sonographer said that the gestational age can be + or - 2 weeks and if you think about it, that makes sense because you can have a baby at full term between 38 and 42 weeks.. that’s two weeks either side of an edd according to lmp xx or am I talking shit xx

I was told they calculate by the first day of your last period, but adjust when you are scanned. So there is a huge difference if you ovulated on cd9 to if you ovulated on cd21. If you ovulated late then it won't be 6 wks +2 yet. I think that is based on assuming everyone ovulates on cd14, which they don't. At 5 weeks you won't be able to see much of anything.

One midwife told me I was 4 weeks this week and another told me I was nearly 6 weeks. It depends on your cycle lengths.

Just popping in...i had an early scan at 6 +3 and they said it was measuring 5+4 (i was sure of dates). Could see sac and fetal pole but no heartbeart....i went week.later and heartbeat was detected so you might be similar.....fingers crossed for you. Xx

It was ok. Measuring 5.5 so need to go back in 10 days. Saw a yolk sac but nothing else to report really. Sonographer said it was high and Everything was where she expected it to be for that gestation. Time will tell. So not bad news, but a heartbeat would have been really reassuring xx

What vitamins etc are people taking?

I didn't want to shell out for Pregnacare this time around. I've got Folic Acid from Holland & Barrett (250 tablets was only around £2.99) and Vitamin D from Morrisons (£2.50 for 90 tablets). The Folic Acid is the dose they recommend, whereas the Vitamin D is slightly higher than they recommend.

By lmp I was 7 weeks BUT I KNOW I ovulated late (cd25)ish so 5.5 would be about right really xx when’s your next scan? Xx

So I feel it's time to finally join all you lovely ladies on this thread

After 3 long and stressful years, we finally got our BFP which was rather unexpected after all this time I managed to pick up a digi and got the lovely 3+ so hopefully this will start to sink in a little more now. According to the calculators, my EDD is 19/11/18.

Also, I'm so pleased to be continuing this journey with Liz and Sunflower and look forward to getting to know everyone else

Yay! Welcome hunni.... added u to the list - it took us 3.5yrs to conceive our bean... so I totally understand how u feel.

How do u feel? Any symptoms yet?
