So got to see DH yesterday night after 7 weeks :cheer: went out for a nice meal and then back to my parents cos he had to go to work today and its closer. Unfortunately he had to break the news to me that he will NOT be allowed to come home for that period over christmas that he was supposed to - has been over ruled by some senior officer who just quoted the awful get out of jail free card of "operational necessity". As it stands at the moment he doesn't know when he will get back to see the baby - he needs someone to fly out to take his place before he can fly back and has been told this hopefully will happen in January.

Needless to say I had a little cry about it last night - really wanted to spend christmas together as a family and also gutted for DH that he is going to miss so much.
His captain is totally on his side so that makes me feel a little better about his chance of getting back in January but its not certain/guaranteed and until he's actually home we cant guarantee that he will get any of his paternity leave.

Trying to keep our heads up and stay strong but its not great and I'm feeling a bit disappointed and low at the moment - not in frame of mind to look forward to LO arriving as all that means is that DH has already left.

Sorry for the long post, still trying to get my head around it.
Anyone got any ideas for getting this baby out 2 weeks early so he/she can meet their daddy?!?

Baby may come out early on its own hun, you never know :D Get researching on supposed labour remedies and start chucking them all down.... I know I have :D I've heard elsewhere on the forum that Wii Fit is supposed to help, hehe, I'm going to give it a go I know that!

I really hope baby comes in time to see daddy before he leaves. Maybe you should tell it next time you're in the bath or something, it may hear you :)

HUGS

xxxxx

I have had several chats with bump about when he/she should make an appearance - hope they are listening!!!

Oh no...that's really crap. I don't blame you for having a cry!

I hope his Captain can sort something out so he can get back as early as possible in January.

Yeah me too, have lost any trust I had in the system at the moment though, not holding my breath just going to try and enjoy the next few weeks with DH and deal with the other stuff later. Trying not to get too stressed or upset for LO.

oh hun  i'd be tempted to have a word with your midwife! my dad had to go away just after my sister was due and they offered to induce my mum early! she would have been left home with 2 kids tho on her own, so it was a bit different! and it was 18 years ago mind, but its still worth seeing!

Thanks girls!
MMGI - Yeah I will be telling my midwife about it at next appointment but I get the feeling that they follow a set of rules, always worth asking though - all they can say is no!

fingers crossed lo stays in to 37 weeks but then comes out to meet daddy!! unfortenatly some babies are very stubborn n dont listen to their mummys :wall:

my cousin was induced at 38 weeks as her hubby was navy and going to sea and they were happy to do so as long as she was considered full term so def worth speaking to your mw about

Good Luck huni ! Hopefully it will all work out for you xxx

Oh Frankie, that's really not working to help your young service familes, I know they have a job to do, but really they must have others they can pull over there to cover , your hubby would dok the same fokr someone else i'm sure in the same boat.

Right then, get you Evening primrose Oil that the girls have been on about, and your walking boots on, and lots of ready currys and sex and get that baby out, What week/days of preg will you be when hubby leaves?

lots of hugs today for you Hun X

This is what I've been told to do by my hypnobirthing woman every day from today! She said to lie on the sofa, do my deep breathing techniques and get really relaxed then tell my baby it's time, visualise birth etc.

Obviously hope the MW will let you be induced early and baby get to meet it's Daddy but anythings worth a try. Good luck Frankie, can't imagine the thought of other half not being there. Really thinking of you xxx

I hope your midwife will induce you early, i am induced early because of fast labours so it is possible, they check me to see if i am favourable if i'm not i go home and go back the next week. only once did i make it to be induced otherwise mine came early anyway, or that check to see if i'm ready started me off, so fingers crossed, they told me i was no where near last time and i had him 3 days later so you never know just a check can help sometimes.
