Nightfeeds Chat Thread

Woo hoo, we slept through last night!! He was a bit of a nightmare to put down at 7pm and really fighting his swaddle. I ended up in tears as I felt like we'd taken a big backwards step. Then took him out of swaddle, put him in his gro bag, and he slept through until 7am!! (with 11pm dreamfeed)

Gemsy, that's amazing!!! I was reading the Oct/Nov thread and I can't believe youre working shifts like you are. I went to a 2hr finance meeting yesterday and it was like planning a rocket launch.

Laura, I'm using infacol too, but when I used it before every feed, Jess didn't poop for 24hrs. She's up to 7lb 6oz though, so chuffed. She was 7lb 1oz last week. My boobies are working

Oh Fliss, believe me I wish I wasn't but when you're self employed no one else will do it for you! Sat in my office at the moment wondering where to start with the chaos but Freddie asleep on me so I am not achieving much! lol

Great weight gain btw! :)

Woohoo that's fab on the weight gain fliss!!

I've seen the health visitor today who said try the comfort formula - wish I could of done full breast but hey ho I tried. She now weighs 7lb 14 from her 6lb 8 birth weight so that's good :)

Gemsy I kinda feel the self employed pain but I have 4 brilliant partners who are giving me a 6 month break. Makes it tough financially though. I wouldn't get much done with jess around!!!

Laura, that's amazing how much Emily has gained, don't beat yourself up, I hope you are getting time to enjoy it more with the combi feeding. X

Ive just fed greyson from 2 while he was still practically sleeping and put him down again, so about twenty minutes. Fingers crossed he gets back off to sleep quickly instead of an another 3hr marathon! (This is my last shred of optimism!)

Well done pippa, hope he sleeps! We are on feed number 2- hope she goes straight back down as I'm shattered tonight x

I finally got to bed at about 2:20. Violet's just woke up. Great. A full 40 minutes sleep. :/

LD she's 6 weeks now. Tonight she did 5.5 hours from 9pm til 2.30am! Just fed now and she's snoring on the boon so gunna attempt to put her back down, fingers crossed for 3 more hours! I should have gone to bed at 9 when she did instead of 11!

Great news on the weight gain btw, I'm sure mixed feeding will work great for you. Hardly anyone does 100% boob, I know we're going to introduce formula at night in the new year.

Pippa sleeping through is amazing! Go you! Xx

Ooooo 5.5 hrs **salivating at thought**

I had a rubbish night with waking every 90 mins and fussing baby pulling at my boob. I cracked and gave some formula as my nipples were on fire
I don't know what gets into her with these spells...

I had a bit of a rubbish night too! She was ok at first but then was awake 5:20-7:30 crying but wasn't hungry just wanted cuddles but not even that happy with cuddles so not sure what was wrong! She is now asleep again but we need to go out soon so either she needs to wake up now so I can get her dressed and fed or I can put her coat on over hercsleepsuit but my mums is a 40 minute walk away and I don't want her to wake, realise she I hungry and scream all the way, hmm decisions decisions- I love her to bits but I do miss just being able to leave the house without it being an episode of crypt on factor lol xx

Wow Chloe that's good she's sleeping well - I can't imagine Emily doing that at 6 weeks :) I find myself not going to bed when she's sleeping too!!

Fliss/Lou - sorry you had bad nights. I find Emily fussing on boob at timer and sure she messes latch but I let her carry on at times which is bad as can't face the wriggling and fussing again!!

We had a good night thanks to co sleeping again. Bit worried it will be a hard habit to break so need to try and get her into her bed nest. Are you still co sleeping fliss?

LD my little one messes up the latch all the time but she is still getting milk as she is swallowing! Don't think we ever get it right at night time but she getting milk and its not hurting me so I don't really care lol xx

Yup. We normally all get a pretty good night and I'm still trying to get my supply up. Most people I speak to who are bf say they are or have co slept and its naturally worked out the baby moving to cot at the right time. I don't think at this stage it can be a bad habit as it feels the right thing to do iykwim?

We were up every 1-2 hours for the 1st 3 weeks, then we've had more and more longer sleeps - hope it continues! I never imagined we'd get these long periods back in those earlier weeks!

She loves to cluster feed in the evenings, think she's building herself up for the night - fine by me! X

Hmmm my LO has been asleep since 12:30 ( has woken up for feeds and gone straight back to sleep!) it is now 9pm and she is still fast asleep- can see this being a long night! She obviously needs the sleep- just wish she hasd waited until tonight rather than sleeping all day lol xx

Good luck everyone :)
Lou, I find there's no pattern yeg and had good nighrs after sleepy days abd vice versa...
Jess has been very settled all evening apart from a big puke all over daddy. Had to throw his tie out

Bad night here so far :( Emily has been crying since 1am and no settling her. Still not sure if wind/colic or something like reflux but she was fine last night so am a little stumped.

Hope your all having good nights

Right here with you hon! Been up since one after getting her down at 11.30pm. Urg! Don't know what prob is here either. Just letting her comfort on boob cos at least its quiet that way. Given up and come downstairs to see how weird tv is at this time of night! Bunnies are very confused and looking for brekky

shocker my baby slept for five hours straight for the first time since day 2 just a shame it was 6pm to 11 pm. Luckily I slept too as since then it's been the usual awake sleep awake and not long enough in between to sleep for me. Good job I love her. Hoping we will now sleep for a few more hours.
