Nightfeeds Chat Thread

Dotty & pippa that's great!
Mollie finally gave in to sleep at 2.30 ish. Shattered but I know I can get by on just 4h sleep. Shes 4m old so I can't really get away with the newborn excuse either!
Got my works Xmas party tonight, ill be falling asleep I think! Xx

Mollie must have known it was your xmas party spinsugar!

Pippa and Lou I'm so jealous of your fab milk supply, its like tri2 all over!!

Had an unsettled night here, short bursts of sleep, hubby snoring so loud he keeps waking himself up  so I've got him to change a nappy at 3am as punishment, haha!

Aww fliss don't worry a out milk - you are doing an amazing job! Its not always fun having lots as I often wake up soaked lol! I'm happy with tonight! Hannah fed at 11 then at 12 but she then finished at 1 and slept until 4- had 30 minute feed and slept until 6:45 so I can live with that! Much much better than last night when she was awake 3 till 7 lol! Note to self do not eat chocolate and drink lemonade before bed haha xx

Hope your all doing well ladies - sounds like a mixture of good and bad nights. I'm still doing boob and bottle but not sure how much milk I'm producing. I'm still doing a real mish mash! Nights are a mixture - fed a lot last night but she's hard to settle after. Not sure if it's wind or just wanting to be held but can go on for hours and then it's time to start again.

Do your little ones go straight down after feeds? X

First time I've been able to get on here since Friday as kept saying server error :( I wind her for 20 mins after feed but she's still sick the minute she is laid flat in her cot- it doesn't bother her but I've had to start putting a muslin under her head as otherwise we were changing cot sheet 3 times a night which would wake her up x

Hi girls. Hope everyone is not too tired?

Our nights are falling into a pattern-ish now. Bath, bottle, bed at 7pm. The last two nights I have managed to put him down awake and he has gone down. Mostly in the evenings, once down he will stay down, but the last two nights he has been a bit restless and I've had to go up and settle him a couple of times.

I then dream feed at 11pm. He will then wake for a feed 3-4am. I try and hold him off with his dummy if he wakes at 3. Then back down and another feed at 7am before we are up for the day.

I have started doing formula feeds at 7pm and 11pm, then boob at 3am and 7am. We're on infant gaviscon for reflux, and it needs to go in a bottle (unless you want to mix up a paste pre-feed which is a real faff!), so I have made my peace with bottle feeding and feeling good about my combi feeding at the moment. Still love our night breast feeds, it is such a special bonding time :)

Ladies I think it's time to join you all in here. (At least while pf is still working, lol)

My littlest man Alexander is 6 days old. We're ff now due to me finding bf too painful and my toddler (13 months) reacting slightly violently every time he saw me try to bf!

Look forward to getting to know some of you x x x

Not only is she now wide awake ( knew it was coming as she slept all day) she just pulled off mid feed and soaked me herself and the bed in milk! Had to laugh ( it was either that it cry lol) x

Its funny you find bottle easier pippa. .. I find boob easier and quicker.... Serena is such an effective pump lol that she feeds in no time on the boob but takes an age with an expressed bottle x

It more positioning than the actual feeding. Regardless of feeding method hes still up for over an hour and a half each feed.
Its half 2 now and I guarantee I won't get to put my head back down til at least 4 :(

Blimey I've missed it here!!! Stupid server, they know we're addicts so why the torment???:wall2:

Having a bit of a mixed time here, Thurs night Fri morning was pretty awful. Jess has started some impressive puking, sometimes with agitation sometimes not. Taking her later for a weigh in to make sure all is well but I think she has some mild reflux. Is baby gaviscon only on prescription?

Bf seems to be a bit better, supply seems good but I still can't pump!!!

Pippa that sucks. Hope greyson surprises you...

Just going to bed. It's been a long night. Violet has been asleep pretty much most of the day apart from feeds. Come 23:45 and now she decides to stay awake for 3 hours! Little monkey! Please let me have a couple of hours kip. Zzzz xxx

Haven't been on here for ages! Unfortunately it's not because E is sleeping through though :-( I have been treated to a couple of 8 hour stretches but she's teething at the moment and wakes up screaming. Her gums are so hot, poor baby

We've just managed our first 4 hour gap between feeds overnight! Up to now he's been going anywhere between 1.5 to 3 hours. Very pleased mummy right now x

Ive missed it too ha ha!! Mixed bag here as I'm still doing more formula at night but she know seems to scream now at every feed and won't settle. Not sure if just straight forward wind or anything else (how the hell do you know if something like silent reflux?) but have started infacol. I did get colief but never have the thirty mins it tajes to work. also she will not settle on her own, as soon as I put her down on her back she grunts which then turns to cries. Again is this wind? I've taken to sleeping with her on my chest which isn't great as I worry but I can't go with zero sleep if she won't settle. She seems to sleep better on me - just had 4 hours since last feed (I didn't sleep that long) whereas she's less settled on her own. Anyone else have a Velcro baby :)

She poos much less too - sometimes once a day, is this normal? Not sure if this is contributing to pain! I've the health visitor today so will ask. I'm still trying breast but she's fussing way more and moving her head when latched which I think incorrects it, plus it's always the unknown if she's had enough after all my issues. Well done to those ladies for sticking to it - I found it bloody hard!!

Hope you ladies are managing some well needed sleep. Emily just had 90ml but now on me and not sure my chances of putting her down again :) x

Laura, mine is def a velcro baby too! I get the boob fussing too, its horrible, but infacol def reduces it. Just watch the infacol, jess poos much less with this. For Emily, I suspect less poos is down to more formula? I think there is some progression too with age as jess now down to 3 per day. X

Velcro baby here too, certainly in the daytime! At night she'll do up to 5 hours in the Moses, but I struggle getting her back down after that. Last night she slept 10-3 then fed til 4, and was up at 5.30 and 6.30 then she's just been asleep on me for an hour.

Feel like I shouldn't complain as I'm lucky to get the first bit, but I am shattered zzzz x

How old is your lo again Chloe? Five hours sounds bliss to me!! Funny enough Emily is worse at night for being on me!! Saying that just tried putting her in swing and she cried so back on me again! I found a sling I can finally use and that enables me to do stuff in the day.

I did wonder about the age thing fliss - will watch the infacol but had to try something! :) how did your weigh in go with j x
