not impressed with my appointment this morning

my midwife who i was supposed to see wasnt there so i had to wait over an hour to see another midwife

i explained my situation to her and explained why i was having an early sweep and that i needed baby to arrive before next week because we wont have child care after that. she was NOT sympathetic at all and said that she wasnt happy doing the sweep before my due date. anyway she did a half-hearted sweep, told me that she wasnt going to try very hard because my body wasnt ready anyway..

she then told me to book an appointment for another sweep next week, even though i had explained over and over about not having childcare. i told her that my midwife had promised me an induction this friday at which point she laughed and said 'dont be silly, you're not even overdue yet.'

so im annoyed...

awwwwww love im sorry she was such a compleat cow to you id report her just for her insensitve nasty and disprespectful rude tone and manner

i dont know why im getting so emotional.. i just expected her to be more helpful but she didnt care at all. we are going to be so stuck next week with my inlaws being away and everything, i just dont want rhys to end up in the labour room with us

awww i'm sure if worst comes to worst and he does have to go to hopspital with you there will be somewhere for him to go so he doesn't have to be in the room with you hun. Do you know why your normal midwife wasn't there???

my normal midwife had to do an emergancy house call this morning and couldnt make it for her appointments

Tezzy maybe you could ring your normal m/w and ask for another?..and ask about the induction?

Nothing for me today, not gunna think about it anymore, just happy if baby happy and he seems it! xxxx

tezzy im sorry the midwife was a cow, i hope the sweep she did do works - will serve her right

i didnt get my sweep today but im not overdue yet so im not too fussed, she has booked me in for nxt thursday but hope baby arrives before then

Get some hospital gloves, relax on the bed, get hubby to feel for your cervix and give it some could pressure in a circular motion (that is what my MW did anyway lol)

Cant believe sweeps are so difficult to get. I went to a 40 week appt and my mw asked me if i wiould like to try a sweep. Granted, she couldn't really reach. But I did go into labour two days later!

got lower backache and alot of BH's already and its only an hour and half since sweep!! i hope i get some bad pains soon!!

Have a nice bath
While in the bath, stimulate your nipples for 15-20 mins
Then have a nice bounce on your birth ball!

Todays 38 week midwife appointment: Woooooo!!! baby is engaged a little 4/5 (I was expecting LO to still be free so this is good!!)

Blood pressure is up to 136/83 I don't really know what this means (midwife said is was a bit high) but I have to go back next week to re check it as it's usually ok and around 100/60.
Thinking positively tho at least it means I get to see a midwife in a weeks time instead of the usual 2 weeks!

Lots of exciting labour signs going on in this thread at the moment (not from me) ..wooo!!

YEY babies engaged 4.5 good start thats great news

im not in hossie as its a bit hectic there and they said there busy but they just rung as said im priority as my waters broke over 24 hours a go so im going in at 8 to be induced

No water birth for me any more due to rishk of an infection feel more scared now as ive not got any control and collier dosnt want to come out

but at i will have my son soon so im sure i will not give a toss about the pool after i have my gorgoues so in my arms
