Hi ladies

Me and my OH have decided over Christmas to start trying for a baby. I came off the pill around 3 months ago and have been using condoms since then. The first time we had unprotected sex was the day after boxing day, and the following day.

I am pretty sure I was ovulating at this time? I had 1 sharp pain in my left side boxing day evening, 1 the following morning and stronger ones the day after. Do you think this could be ovulation pains?

Boxing day was CD 16. It is all so confusing, I have no idea if you get pains when your ovualting or before?! Also when is the first time you can begin to notice symptoms?

I'm not expecting to be lucky enough this time to conceive, but I am grateful to receive any help / advice you can give me!

I look forward to sharing our highs and lows of TTC (and I will attempt to get to grips with all the shorthand!!)

how long are your cycles? you could very well have been ovulating

Hello!

Welcome to the forum - prepare to become addicted LOL.

Sounds like you caught things at the right time - I'm not sure about how early symptoms start, think it's around 6 days past ovulation but not entirely clear on it. I would wait a couple of weeks before testing though as the normal luteal phase after ovulation is 14 days but can be upto 16-18 days.

( Plus, if Boxing Day was CD16 then today is CD19 for you I think. )

hi and welcome to the forum, i think missj is right about the good old symptom spotting lol about 6dpo but it depends on alot of things hun so just relax and go with the flow.....pppfffttt you wil soon learn this doesnt happen ....good luck hun x x

the 2ww................. argghhh............. that is all lol

no i hate the 2ww i am currently in it but i onl BD 2 times and i wasnt using opks (ovulation prediction kits) so i have no idea when i ovulated as my cycle was 32 days but this last one was 28 days so im in limbo it was either crimbo eve n i bd (baby danced) on the 23rd or it was tuesday and i bd on monday!!
lots of EWCM sunday, monday, tuesday.

Hi Hopeful. Welcome to the PF I would try OPKs next month to see when you're surge is. If your cycle is 35 days it could be a bit later on. I think mine is around CD 19 and I have a 33 day cycle, but I'm not very good at this admittedly!

Before TTC and friends stories I used to think that having a baby would be so straight forward....how wrong I was!!

It is all so confusing, and the worst part is it is out of your control..!!
