~*NEW*~ 37weeks + Labour signs, advise and hugs thread

Afternoon ladies

I hope you are all well and not feeling too knackered!
im just having strong BHs all day not helped my the fact that ive had 3 cups of RLT already. I have the tablets too but im not sure if they are ok to take because they are 900mg so would i still take the 6 or whatever it was a day?

Hello Ladies !!

I have 3 bags !

One for labour, one for baby stuff and for me if have to stay in hospital, and one with drinks magazines and nibbles in ! LOL!! think I may have over packed! but the hospital is 2 and a half hours away from me !!

Im dreading the travel there when in labour !! just hope not snowing or icy !!!

How are you all today ?

Going to hospital to get my BP monitiored for a few hours as I have a lot of protein in my Urine ! so see how I get on, im fine apart from that ! just uncomfy as you all are !

Who's left in here now?

Still no change for me. I wondered if i felt a few Braxton Contractions today but not really certain. At the day unit to be monitored tomorrow so we'll see what happens then. I've told baby that it can start whenever now but i'd really like a feb 14th baby. I can see i'm going to be so disappointed on sat. I know its very unlikely to happen then but i can dream for now.

Just wanted to put down how i feel today.

Really fed up now. Woke up with cramp on sunday morning so had pain in my calf all day. In order to ease it i decided to have a bath but whilst trying to sit back up after lying down i managed to trap a nerve i think in my hip. Anyway i ended up not being able to walk properley. I can understand how some people end up on crutches with SPD as it played up big style and i couldn't put any weight on my hip at all. Although the pain has eased now i'm just feeling really sorry for myself.

I'm now 40 weeks and 5 days (i think thats right was due on the 11th). Still no real symptoms. Back at the hospital tomorrow. I wasn't worried about the labour but the longer this goes on the more i'm begining to worry. I had a growth scan at 34/35 weeks (can't remember excactly and i'd have to go down stairs to check) and baby was meant to be around 6 pound 6 then. I'm only 5 foot myself with size 3/4 feet and i'm really big. I know i'm over weight as well but i'm sure baby is big.

I don't think my husband fully realises how hard it is to do even the simplest of things at the moment. Everytime i ask him to do something its like i'm asking the world of him. I think he vac'd the bedroom earlier but i've not been in there since. I know he will expect me to comment on it. I only asked him to help me clean it 2 weeks ago. Am i really meant to be happy that he's done it today. I don't expect anyone to comment really i just needed to get it off my chest.

Well i'm back from the hospital. They managed to do a sweep today. It wasn't painful just uncomfortable so how much they managed to do i'm not sure. My blood pressure was up again but i wasn't surprised as i only had a couple of hours sleep last night. Anyway i'm back on friday at the day unit to have baby and my blood pressure monitored again and if nothing has happened by monday then thats the date of my induction if they have beds. She did try to fit me in this week for an induction but they were booked up.

Hey Grace

hope something happens for you before Monday and hope baby isnt too big xxxx

Well guys, not much happening with me ! had a few low down pains and been sick :puke: and runs  a few times between yesterday and today ! but not sure what that is ! hoping it was the start of something ! but nothing ! :( :( :(

Well I had to go to hospital last week to be monitored so canceled my hair appointment that I had to wait weeks for ! was hoping to get it done before baby came and get rid of some of my grey ! LOL, but had to cancel it last mine as was in the hospital ! :(

anyway have made one for Thursday ! so you know what will happen ! baby will prob decide to make an apperance ! LOL ! as long as my waters dont break halfway through getting my hair dyed I will be fine LOL !!! now that would be embarrising !

Ello Ladies

Hope you are all keeping ok.

I was up the hospital on the CTG thing yesterday morning and the midwife was making a half arsed attempt at finding him and in the end gave up! so with me still being worried i went back to the hospital last night just to be safe as the doppler was showing his heartrate really shallow and i wasnt feeling any movement at all.

all was well though and i came away feeling really reassured, just gotta see whats said on friday at my scan im really hoping that one of these days im up there they will just say they are gonna start me off because they have said themselves that he hardly fits in my tummy anymore he is fully engaged and his feet are still in my ribs ffs my bump didnt drop it basically became what looks like the equivalent of 2 bumps lmao

 Well, hello girlies, guess its time to pop in here and see whats going on.

I finished work today which is lush, it feels like a worry has been lifted off my shoulders. It means I can get my head around sorting out stuff for the new baby - I just haven't had a chance yet with working and having Evie running around on my days off, I've just been too tired. This is the last push though and I'll be really pleased to get everything out the loft, cleaned up and ready to go!

No real signs for me yet, I have got real pressure pushing down on my lady bits (feels like I've had a good kicking there  ) which I never had with Evie but I just think this baby is sitting alot lower than Evie ever did. I never really had any signs with her, I went 6 days over, my waters broke and 7 hours later I gave birth! Desperately trying to get it out of the back to back position which was identified at my last MW appointment.

Good luck to those who are the 40week mark, won't be long for you now

Ok had a bad day ! Im going to moan !!!

well had half an hour sleep last night, got up went for bath, went to midwife at 9am ! and it was a student, who I had never meet before, felt like I couldn't talk to her at all ! so I felt like it was a total waste of a journey ! she did usual tests, said I was 3/5th engaged. and booked me for induction on .... bloody wait for it the 8th of march !!!!!! god I don't want to wait that long !!! im so tired, so uncomfy and I have had enough!!!!!!!!!

Another midwife is coming to see me at home on Sat as my blood pressure was high again, and going to plead with her to change my induction to sooner if I dont go before then !!!

Just so tired I just cant imagine having to wait till 8th of March for baby ! and by then I think I will be so tired and stressed !!!!

How can I persuade the midwife ! any ideas??????

Hope your all ok ! and sorry for the moan !!

 Well i'm still here. :wall: :wall: :wall:

I'm 41+1 and still waiting. I did loads yesterday thinking it might move things along. Though baby might be too comfy with me just watching tv. All that happened was that my back ended up being really sore and my hips played up. Never mind at least all the washing is done (including a load for my dad as his machiene is broke) and we have home made soup in the freezer for afterwards.

Stuart and I went out with my friends as we always do on a wednesday. Just to 2 local pubs the landlady was saying what are you still doing here. They were all really nice. My friends seemed surprised that i'm not excited. Its not that i'm nervous (well i don't think i am) i think i'm just fed up. Everyone else is more excited than me. I fed up of being in the house all day but i don't really fancy driving. In fact i'm not sure if i could still get bump behind the wheel. Would it be silly to drive now? Anyway time to stop feeling sorry for myself.

Firstangel: Hope you are feeling better soon. We all moan so please don't worry. They tried to schedual my induction date sooner (only becuase i asked and had a really nice midwife) using the excuse of high blood pressure even though i'd only had a couple of stray readings. Every other time its been low. If its high again they may change your date for you.

Fluffy Bunny: Hope you manage to get your baby things sorted. I still haven't. Do you think my baby is waiting till i do! They've never mentioned what position my baby is in other than head down i may ask tomorrow.

Sugarhigh: All the best for the scan tomorrow.

Hope things get moving soon. Speak soon.

Hi Ladies,

How are you all doing? I've been relaxing on my first week of maternity leave, it's pretty nice chilling out but wish i knew how long I have left, it's wierd not knowing when LO will make an appearance!!

I think i'm still in denial that this is going to happen like really soon, i STILL haven't packed my hospital bag and there is a few things round the house, i just never seem to get round to doing them!! MUST do bag this weekend!

Went to the midwife today, all is ok, baby is 4/5 now where was free until now so come on and get down there baby!! Really dont want to be induced so gotta get things going! I havent really had any 'signs' yet, i think baby is too comfy, need to start doing some things to get it moving along! What have you girls been trying?

I hope you are all not too uncomfy, we are having a bit of a baby drought the last few weeks so hopefully we'll all go soon and have a mini boom.

xxxxx

Hi

Well being back at the day unit today. Due to one stray blood pressure reading had to have bloods done as well as CTG monitoring. All came back ok. I got a bit stressed when we were talking about probable size of baby. As i've said before it was meant to be 6 pound 6 weeks ago and i'd got it into my head that they put on around half a pound a week which would make it 8 pound plus. However i realised my silly mistake when we were discussing it and apparentley is around a pound a week  :wall: :wall: :wall: . I stupidly had read 500g as half a pound but of course its not its half a kilogram (stupid pregnancy brain). Now i'm really worried about the size. Due to this she tried to get me in this afternoon but they couldn't manage it but she did do another sweep. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that something happens soon. I'd prefer not to have a section but if i need one i hope they realise sooner rather than later so that i don't labour for ages and then have to have a section. Anyway thats enough moaning from me.

Kirsty: I'm glad your relaxing enjoy it. 4/5 engaged is really good isn't it. I'm somewhere between 2 and 3/5ths engaged. So far i've tried sex, nipple stimulation, having orgasms  and long walks (granted round shopping centres). Not keen on fresh pineapple so i've given that a miss. Hope things get started for you soon but not before you've done you bag.

Hope everyone else is ok.

Hello ladies :)

I'm 37 weeks today! I belong here now :cheer:

I'm nesting big time and my belly button has half-popped out. The top half is out like a lip and the bottom is kinda flat. It's freaky. Hubby keeps touching it and creeping me out.

I had weird stabby pains in my cervix yesterday, which wasn't pleasant. I guess that's just the cervix preparing itself though? I sat on my ball for a bit and they passed. Looking forward to seeing the midwife on Friday and finding out whether the baby is any more engaged. I think he/she might be cos I've been feeling more pressure down below of late.

Hi Grace,

Glad all was ok from the monitoring and hopefully things will kick off soon, don't worry about the size of the baby, it's all guess work and from what i can tell they often get it wrong. Baby has to come out now whatever hey! Have they given you an induction date yet if things don't progress on their own?

Yeah i'm glad LO is engaging a bit now, want things to start moving along. I'm confused with the engaging measure though, does 4/5 mean 4/5 head in, or midwife can feel 4/5 so 1/5 head in? Either way, its in the right place hey! :cheer:

I'm doing my hospital bag today too, so getting myself organised!!

Hi hun,

Welcome in to this scary thread of almost ready to pop ladies!!

Hopefully your LO is more engaged, let us know what the middy says. My belly button is still well in, i think i have a deep deep cave of a belly button

Me and my sis were discussing the engagement thing t'other day. My notes (from 36 weeks) say 4/5 but that's 4/5 palpable (i.e. 1/5 in) and hers say 2/5 engaged (so 3/5 palpable) at first I thought bloody hell, your baby is nearly all the way down thinking they meant 2/5 palpable but it's just a case of midwives using different terms.

Ah yes, this makes sense. Just relooked a my notes and says 4/5 palp so i guess it's 1/5 engaged. Been bouncing on my ball for ages today so let's hope LO moves down some more!!

Hey everyone can I come and join you all in here now :D
How is everyone feeling? I keep thinking baby is going to come early but then go back to thinking he isn't  4I've been losing plug for a couple of weeks now and have had that heavy period pain type feeling all day today but those are the only things so far :D :D
I'm pretty sure he is really low down as I keep getting what feels like pokes in my bits

Hi all
Thought I'd pop in here as hubby is away for the weekend at his parents- we deliberated whether he should go as its 4hours away (SW) but I'm pretty certain nothing is going to happen ( eek). I'm keeping my legs firmly crossed!! I'm feeling way to uncomfortable to sit in a car for 4 hours so was happy to stay home and chill.

Kirsty, I love the fact that you are as disorganised as me. I will start to panic when you post that your bag is ready - I have managed to put a few toiletries on the bathroom shelf ready to go and have washed my dressing gown but thats it :)

Gracie- really hope its not long for you now hunny your babba needs to come out and meet us all  Hope you are not too uncomfy.

pickled-onion your belly button sounds like its got a mind of its own :D mine has been an 'outty' since 2nd tri, I think it looks horrible (even stick it down with a plaster if I'm going out because I don't like having a little nose poking out under my tops :)
The pressure down below is such a weird sensation, I think its when the babies drop right down so your little one might be getting ready :cheer:

Jools Hi  nice to see you in here (I've only just started popping in) - Hope you don't mind but I'm using you as my kind of marker, I know once you pop I really am on the countdown for mine :D How's Brody about the imminent arrival? Evie knows I have a babba in my tummy and likes to pat and kiss it but I really don't think she understands iykwim, I think shes going to be in for a bit of a shock in reality. I'm pooping it a bit how I'm going to manage with a newborn and toddler but hundreds have done it so I'm sure I'll cope. My biggest worry is not having enough time for Evie, esp as I plan to BF.

Sugarhigh and First Angel - are you both still around?

This has turned into a bit of an epic  labour dust to all you overdue mummies, time for a few more to pop methinks

I never realised we will have both our LO's so close in age! Brody is exactly the same as Evie by the sounds of it! I could have been the one writing all of that word for word! Brody is a bit clingy at the moment so I'm unsure how he is going to react to me breastfeeding especially! I'm so hoping he doesn't feel left out at all

Well I'm not in any rush myself but Kev is getting anxious bless him and is sleeping less than I am  He cooked us a curry last night and came back form Asda with 2 pineapples today too :rotfl: I ate them but I think you have to have far more than 2! I love the stuff though but eating 2 whole ones didn't do much for my heartburn :wall:

I think he was just expecting this one to be here by now as Brody came 16 days early.

I'm still around hun, just enjoying my last night on puter before i have my boy

got lots of pains/cramps and ALOT of pressure down there i tried to poo earlier and felt like i was also passing a stone from the other one lol so i think something may have happened after my sweep on friday and that they wont need to give me the gel and will be able to just break my waters tomorrow
