Never mind teenage - how about child pregnany?

Guest
Just heard the headline for tomorrow's 'The Sun' newspaper is talking about an 11year old girl who is Britains youngest mum to get pregnant and about to have a baby.

I have nothing againt young/teenage mums, being one myself, but this is rediculous and surely robbing a child of it's own life? I had friends who are more than 11 years older than me, let alone my parents.

Brave of her for going through with it, and good luck to her, but I think she is seriously wasting her life before it has even begun. (Bearing in mind I'm saying all this before reading the paper - I don't know the actual story yet).

Anyone else want to comment or am I openeing a kettle of fish here?

Obviously we dont know the full story but OMG just at '11 years old and pregnant' in the same sentance.

im no angel im not trying to pretend but i can honestly say sex was the LAST thing on my mind at 11 years of age! i was just coming out of dolls and that LOL..

I cant wait to read this story tomorrow.. Youre right Sami she is wasting her life before its even begun. Do you know where abouts she is from?

imagine when she is like 16 she will be taking her 5yr old to school

fairplayto her thou she could ov quite easily popped down the clinic and had a abortion...

omg.... poor thing i hope she dont have to give birth naturaly shes only a baby..

for the record i didnt even have pubes at 11!!!!!

No mate I just heard it on the telly. Will get the paper tomorrow and read it. It is shocking, I do only hope the father is sticking by her, as more often than not, the fathers 'do the deed' then sod off and leave the poor girl to cope.

i am interested to read this. But I know already I will be shocked.

Mark has just come in from the office and said the father of the baby is 35 and has been taken into custody!

thats not right, he needs shooting!!!!!

poor girl, hope it wasnt rape

35???? No way!! Dont even know what to say to that

'i didnt even have pubes at 11' LOL dionne!!

poor girl, my heart goes out to her.
If the 'father' is 35 he wants locking in a room with 20 dads of 11 year old girls, see if he'd do it again. $$"&&^*&(*)$*)_!_(£)!£*^&%£^ is what i think he is.
LMAO at you Dionne, i didnt either he he he he he.....i still played with my sindy dolls till i was 13, once a geek always a geek?????

At 11 I was climbing tree's ! Didn;t think about sex till I got a boyfriend at 15.

That man needs his dick cut off.

Oh my god the poor girl :( Suppose we can only wait to read the 'full' story when it comes out..papers only tell us what they think we want to hear anyway so i bet we never hear truth about it. Poor girls going to have the whole of the UK reading about her! :?

I heard about this on the news earlier & said to my DH that at 11 I was still playing with my My little ponies & Care Bears & didn't know what sex was or how babies were made.
Mind you she was unfortunate to have started her periods at that age, mine started when I was 13 nearly 14.

I don't understand how men can do that sort of thing, its just plain sick.

Nicki.

There's another in todays papers - due to give birth next month. The father is 15, and the pregnancy is the result of a drinking binge

The first girl has my deepest sympathy, she didn't know until she was giving birth, and it sounds as though she was taken advantage of by a dirty old man. The second seems to show the current state of our society, I'm shocked and appalled - my son is older than her  .

   i thought i was bad!
i remember ages ago there was a story about a girl who was married at 11 and had a baby at 12  i thought that was illegal :?
i think that 35 yr old guy shoul have his dick cut off aswel
luv b x

thankfully that is how it will be treated as she is under 13 and therefore wasnt capable of making a sensible decsion, it will be statutory rape. When older then 13 then they still class as sex with a minor but not statuatory rape i believe.

can you believe that there are people who groom kids but dont do anything till they are 13 as they know if they do get caught it will be a lesser charge? makes you feel sick to your stomach  . anyone else feel so much worse by anything like this since becoming a parent?

The Sun story is what I origionally posted about, but the link Beanie posted is the one OH was on about - poor girl.

Absolutely no sympathy for the girl, 11year olds should NOT be having sex. I agree with what TracyM said... The second seems to show the current state of our society, I'm shocked and appalled

My little sister is 13, 14 in August and she isn't interested in se`at all... although saying that, alot of girls in her year are already having sex.

The youngster had unprotected sex with a boy of 15 in Edinburgh on a night out with pals last August. The father, who cannot be identified, may face legal action.

WTF was she doing on a 'night out'?!! And a 15year old I can understand having sex, these days it is not uncommon, BUT WITH AN 11 YEAR OLD GIRL! If he was 16+ he would bedone for rape, and I think he should still be tried for having sex with a minor.

The girl, who is in only her first year of secondary school, lives in a council flat and began smoking when she was nine....Yesterday she told how she took up drinking at just ten — sometimes downing a potent cocktail of Buckfast and vodka on nights out.

I'm actually appalled. Where were her guardians when she was getting sozzled out her head?!

But this next comment has made me realise a few things...

She said: “I’m not ashamed of my daughter at all — in fact, I’m proud of her for keeping her baby.

“I know she’s worried what other people will say. but she can walk out there with her head held high.

“She’s grown up a lot in the last few months.

This reminded me of my mum. I got a lot of stick when I was pregnant for being a younger mum, I am just pleased the girl and her mum reconciled their differences and her mum and dad are supporting her all the way, it is what this young girl needs. I wish the girl all the best, dispite her age. I am still shocked because at 11 she is still a child. But she has obviously thought this through.

Each to their own eh.

The first one where the 11 year old gave birth had her baby where I was born

As for the second girl, what the hell is her mother thinking? At 11 I wanted to play barbies still, it's actually disgusting and not safe for her to have a child. She's no where near developed enough and I am quite upset at her parents for not stopping her from smoking and drinking! Is this gonna be the next thing, 11 year olds binge drinking and having babies as dolls?

PLEASE CAN I POINT OUT

I am NOT by any means saying teenage/young mums are wrong to those who are on the forum and are younger than myself. I just think having a baby at 11/12 is a little extreme and the poor girl needs to learn some things about the world before having children of her own. I wish anyone, no matter what age, all the best when embarking on pregnany and parenthood, and being a younger mum myself sometimes it is harder because not only do you have to bring up this new little person, you have to fight for acceptance in society aswell, because for some reason you have 'committed a crime' by having a child before 28 (not meaning specific age, but that seems to be 'acceptable' where I live).

Appaled still by the casualality of her smoking/drining/ignorance, but again, good luck to her. I hope she enjoys beings a mother.

Bloody Hell

Don't read The Sun so didn't know about this.

I hope that when Phoebe is 11 she is still climbing trees, jumping in muddy puddles and playing with dolls.

Can't believe her parents don't seem that worried either

I love Phoebe more than anything but if she did that I would be totally gutted and very disappointed for her and in her.

I've got nothing against teen pregnancies at all, but 11 thats not even a teen omfg is all i can say, what sort of upbringing has she had/having what sort of mother allows their 11 year old to smoke and drink let alone have sex, this has angred me so much you wouldn't believe grrrrrrrrrrrr. Abi WILL still be climbing trees at 11 (i hope :? ) damn i'm gonna chip her so i know where she is and what she's upto - well maybe thats a bit extreme, i'm beginning to wish i had a boy now  oh that sounds bad doesn't it :)

Like the others have said i was still playing with barbies at that age - well probably i certainly wasn't getting drunk and having sex
