Hello All

Not sure if this is listed elsewhere, but thought it might help in making your mind up - we wanted to make sure our little 'un wasn't going to be one of twenty kids in their class with the same name, don't know how important it is to everyone, just a preference for us ;)

Anyway, this is the link to a document giving you the top 50 boys and girls names in the UK last year...

I did nt know Oliver was a popular name......thats why we choose it as we did nt know any olivers! oh well!

I know what you mean... we thought our choices were really original then found the boy's name in the top 50 and the girl's in the top 20!!!

I'm surprised, Deborah or Rachel aren't in that list. (I'm Rachel lol).

Arrr Crap :rotfl: lol she wil go to school and all her girly friends will be called Olivia too.

I just didnt realise that it was making a comback

YEY!!!! non of mine are on there! except emily but she was born on 97

hubby has decided that when we have No2 and if it's a girl she'll be called Ruby-Grace... very popular names apparently. Plus we call Eloise, Ellie and that's high up too. Finally I'm following fashion, and all I wanted was an original name! Doh!!

I really hope ella doesnt go to school with 5 other ellas

I don't think it matters if other children have the same name.... is better than giving your kid some wacky out there name they have to constantly repeat or spell for people

Dylan is No. 23 popular but not over popular

Evie is number 21 on that list, but in Dundee from 1999-2005 only 2 people have called their girl Evie so it obviously inst that popular up here. now i dont need to worry about having 5 other Evies in her class. :D

Thats because we are one offs!!! hehe .... best name in the WORLD!!! haha xxxxxx

I'm pleased to see that both Imogen and Sophia are in the top 50, but not too high. And neither of the names we've chosen for a possible boy are there, which is good. (Although I have noticed an increasing amount of people using Arthur as a middle name).
