My IVF journey

Just popping in to wish you lots of luck today xx

Thanks so much everyone, it feels so amazing to have you all xx
It all went very well. 11 eggs!!! I can't believe it. Of course they may not all be mature but I am pretty impressed that my body managed that. The process itself was fine, I was the only person having collection today so I was in the recovery room all by myself, apart from OH and the nurses of course. The people were lovely. I did have some pain and still feel a bit uncomfortable, will take it easy for the rest of the day now and wait for the news of how many fertilised tomorrow. The doctor said transfer will be Friday or Sunday but I think they are going to try and get to blast stage xx

Hey yay that's fantastic news well done Hon :-) fingers crossed that they get some good numbers for you x
I was uncomfortable for a few days after and bloated so take it nice and easy and rest up :-) fingers crossed you get some good blasto xxx

Wow Lisey, will be keeping my fingers crossed for you this week! X

Yay amazing news on 11eggs.
Keeping everything crossed for the next stage xx

Thanks ladies, I am pretty amazed at 11. I expected just 3 or 4. I was drowsy when the doctor told me, I had to double check once I had come round more that I had heard right.
Sarah, I was hoping the bloated feeling would go as soon as eggs were collected as been very bloated for about a week now. Obv still bloated now and have a bit of pain/discomfort in left ovary area. I assume its all normal so will rest up and take it easy like you say. I was told not to cook dinner or iron for today...I asked her if she could change it to a week lol.
My OH has been very good at looking after me and he was so chuffed when they said his sample was good, he actually did a little dance in his chair haha  He has the week off so lots of quality time. Its amazing how this process makes you feel even closer, some people see IVF as clinical and a baby not made with love etc but its quite the opposite in my opinion xx

That's brilliant! I'm so pleased for you, good luck for good news tomorrow xx

Thanks Dee :) I doubt I will sleep well tonight xx

Fab news lisey, glad it went well for you and that's a great number of eggs!! Have everything crossed for good news in the morning. Definitely take it easy for the next few days.

I couldn't agree with you more about the IVF process bringing you closer together, my husband has been my knight in shining armour over the last few weeks! xx

The bloat does ease a little. I find the evening after dinner is when I get all bloaty and uncomfortable
Bless OH glad he had a good sample that's great news :-)
I agree it really does just show how strong you are as a couple hubby has been an absolute star! Still taking my wellies off for me today :-) and I feel like we are even stronger after going through all of this x

Hi hun just checking how you got on today - 11 eggs is fab, puts my 3 to shame lol! I felt really bloated and had a horrible gurgly tummy for about 3 days afterwards. I definitely feel like me and my oh have pulled together during ivf - ttc can be destructive so it's good to see the other side - the way he's looked after me makes me feel so lucky to have him. Will be checking for more fab news in the morning xxx

Thanks everyone, it sounds like we all have wonderful OHs/husbands :) xx

Great number of eggs! I was looking on the wrong thread! That's cute about your DH, it makes them happy knowing they have good sperm! I agree about the closeness issue, we even eat together more often since IVF, it sounds silly but I am veggie and like eating earlier, he eats meat and likes eating late but after IVF when he started doing more meals for me and doing the injections together we've continued taking turns to cook instead of eating separately!

Good luck for fertilisation tomorrow! :) x
