So the time has finally come, can't quite believe it, but its here. Time for baby to make an appearance! If only it were that easy huh?! Lol

After a fairly difficult pregnancy where I have suffered from severe SPD (started at about 14 weeks, signed off work at 27 weeks) and pre-eclampsia (which has involved multiple visits to the hospital over the past 3 weeks and 3 overnight stays in the space of 10 days) we agreed with the consultant that I would be induced today at 39+5. We arrived at 8 this morning, had a CTG done, all good, then in went the pessary.

About 5 hours in now and I'm starting to get some tightenings that are stronger than BH, but not painful as such, nor are they regular. Reckon I'm in for the long haul, but hoping things are moving in the right direction.

Xx

Wow, you have had a difficult pregnancy! Not too long now until you get to meet your little one, all the best and good luck :) xx

Sooo exciting!! I'll be stalking for updates! Good luck I hope it goes smoothly for you xx

Good luck, look forward to hearing more updates x

Ow, ow, ow bloody ow!!!!!

Still got the propress pessary in and omg, the pains are strong!! Should be trying to sleep, but no way that is going to happen with this level of pain. Dread to think what i'll be like in the morning if it doesn't ease any. Paracetamol hasn't touched the pain at all, gonna try a bath in a bit, see if that helps. I'm finding that lying down is making them worse, but sitting on the bed is killing my hips.

Sorry super wingey post, just feeling crappy and need to vent.

X

Inductions suck hun, I remember it far to well. I hope things progress for you soon x

Bless you, doesn't sound like fun. At least it's workin and things are happening for you though. Stay positive, you're so close xx

No progress at all since I was examined yesterday, so the pain was all for nothing. Am gutted and feel like a failure.

You can't think like that and it's not true. They often say if this part of labour is slow the pushing is normally fast.
Whether you were induced or went overdue and went in to labour naturally this might have been something your body had to go through in order to get baby down ready. you have not failed at anything, you're body is doing what it should it just feels like an eternity to you. Keep going, try and stay positive, move around if you can and trust that your body knows what its doing xx

So the propress pessary has failed to make any difference at all to my cervix. They can't break my waters as everything is too unfavourable.

I'm waiting to be seen by the registra (sp!) And have no idea what to expect, which is making me really uneasy and upset. I just want it sorted now and for baby to be here. I've had enough of being pregnant and all the issues that I have had to deal with throughout it.

Am feeling soo low right now

Oh no :( so sorry you're feeling this way and totally understandable to be feeling frustrated and upset xxx
What if they offered you a section, do you think you'd go for it? x

Am definitely feeling better about it all now, after spending a good couple of hours as a sobbing snotty mess! Not the best fun, but think I needed to let it out and admit how hard I have found this pregnancy and everything that has come with the SPD. Thankfully I had mostly calmed down by the time the doctor arrived so was able to actually ask the questions I needed.

The new plan is to wait until morning and see if my cervix has become at all favourable (apparently this happens a fair bit with the propress, nothing happens while it is in, but after it is out things move forward). If it has then they will break my waters and go from there, if not then we are going down the c-section route. There was the option of having another pessary, but my OH and I decided against that as we don't wanna be here again in another 24-30 hours. Plus I'm not sure my hips would cope with loads more time on hospital beds!

My gut feeling is that nothing will change overnight, so I reckon n baby will be here by lunchtime tomorrow!!

Xx

Well that shocked the hell out of me! I'm 2 cm dilated and they have brought me to delivery so that they can break my waters!! Was so sure I'd be having a c-section, this has thrown me a bit! But its all good.
Oh and its my due date today! Xx

Fab news hun
Hope it all goes smoothly for you
Wishing you the best and won't be long for baby now yay :) x
