Its a long one with all the details lol.
Well, I woke up around 6am on Monday 29th October And when I stood up I had a little trickle down my leg. I think in excitement I yelled out omg I just had a trickle down my leg, I'm sure I've not wet myself!! Hubby comes running Out all excited starting to ask all kinds of questions. As I wasn't convinced I went to the loo and when I stood up to wipe mOrr came out. I was now sure it was my waters. We phoned up the hospital and went through all the questions and was told to phone back in a few hours let them know what was going on. Pretty much. Instantly after this first trickle I started having contractions. I thought its not that bad, labour will be easy- ha what a mistake I made there. As the morning went on I lost my mucus plug/bloody show (which can nOt be mistaken) and my contractions got stronger. We phoned back the midwife who said to carry on as I was and phone again at 12 if things are no different and beforehand if my contractions became regular. There was no change so at 12 we were told to go up for an assessment. We got up there to be told yes your waters have gone and you are 1-2cm dilated to go back home and phone up if things progressed otherwise cone back tommorrow at 10am for induction. As the day went on my contractions just got stronger and the pain unbearable. We kept phoning up as they got longer and more painful but was told they can't do anything until they were closer together. It came to bed time but I was in so much pain that I couldn't sleep. By about 4.30am they seemed to slowly diss appear so I manages to get an hour or so's sleep. The following morning my contractions were few and not too painful, I had a bath and got ready to go- the time flew past. We got to hospital and was monitored erc and given the pessery and within the hour I was in so much pain I just couldn't cope. I was re examined and told I was 4cm dilated. I was then taken through to the delivery suit where I begged for gas and air. It didn't work for long and I was doubled over in pain. And it made mr sick. I managed to tell hubby how sorry I was but didnt think I could ever do it again. He was so brilliant, so supportive I could never have done it without him. Anyway I then asked for an epidural which I said never in a million years would I have and it was just fantastic, within 10mins I was pain free and in heaven. It was about 3pm st this point and I thought oh yes it's nearly all over. Well an hour later I was re examined and was told I was 7cm and should be ready to deliver by 9!! I couldn't wait. 9pm came and I was fully dilated. The midwife then said we had to wait another 2 hours before pushing so that baby could move down further.so we waited another 2 hours and as you can imagine. I was absolutely exhausted, all I wanted to do was sleep. Finally I could start pushing!!! After about half hour of trying, babies heart beat kept rising and my contractions stopped again. A dr was called in and he said I was only 9 cm dilated, and I was to be given the hormone drip to help my contractions. He said to wait yet another couple of hours. He returned after 2 hours and said my contractions wern't yet ready so to wait another hour or so. Me and hubby were so tired and fed up by this point we just wanted it all to be over. It must of been around 3.30 when I started pushing again but we were getting knowhere. Doc was called back in and they decided because of babies heartbeat they wanted her out quickly so I had an assisted delivery. The suction one lol. And for that I also had to be sliced and diced. This was the final part, I pushed for another few minutes with docs help, the cord was around her neck so had to be quicj and my beautiful baby girl was bought into this world at 4.19am Wednesday 31st October weighing 7Il 7oz. The cord was cut, she was quickly checked and placed into Justin's arms. She was just beautiful! Once id been stitched back up and left alone as a family I felt soooooo ill. I wanted to hold her but just couldn't. Justin sat cuddling her for the next few hours while I slept, I couldn't go on anymore I just had to sleep. I was let out that evening around 9pm.
Hope that wasn't too long and boring for you to read but that was my long labour story. Xxx
