mum in room??

im deffinately having my mom there. its something i decided very early on in my pregnancy. she has been through it 4 times. and i really want her there for support. and to back me up if i say i really dont want something.

it will just be her and adam though. my dad and sister ect, will wait outside :)

starting to feel really cruel about not wanting her there! my sister is pregnant and feels exactly the same way! it's not that we aren't close- we both love our mum...but she is just too over the top emotional and we both have a very short fuse with her- as bad as that sounds! i can't really explain why! i don't know why myself!
we were never really a 'huggy' 'lovey duvvy' family... we love each other but not that way... but all of a sudden my mum wants to hug and fuss around us and it's hard to cope with!

i sound soooo nasty! i do love my mum, she is just difficult!

I feel exactly the same about my mom. Luckily she hasn't suggested it, but if she did, I would be like, um no sorry! My OH's mom is just as bad, she hasn't suggested it either but if she could be there she probably would! It's such a nightmare, I just wouldn't want that at all. Me and my mom, though we get on alright, we're not really close like moms and daughters should be, so the thought of her being there... well it just wouldn't happen. Just me and my OH, wouldn't have it any other way.

I'm sure even though she would really want to be there, if you explained to her that you really want things to be your way, then she would understand and wouldn't want to do anything to make you feel uncomfortable.

I'm having the job at the moment of trying to explain to my OH's mom that I don't want her to show me how to breastfeed  I would read every book and watch every DVD under the sun before that ever happens (she says she's "comfortable with bodies" ) though I feel so harsh and feel like I'll upset her!
