What age did you make the move to duvet? My little girl is nearly 18 months and my mum has it in her head that the grobag restricts her!! She still moves around so I do worry about Her getting caught up in a duvet. She's still in her cot too :)

Thanks

Following! I'm tempted to do this already with my nearly 15month old

My son is two and we still have his in a gro bag! He is far too much of a wriggly sleeper for a duvet just yet!

I'm dreading the day he gets too big for them!!

My son is 2 next month and won't sleep under a duvet so after a few nights we went back to the grobag! x

I have been wondering this too, my little girl is 18 months and even the sleeping bags up to 2 years don't have much room in them for her anymore as she is so tall so my only option is a couple of £30 odd pound grobags that go up to 36 months or try her with a duvet. She only uses sleepbags at night. At nap time she just has a cellular or crochet blanket that are breathable as I worry about blankets going over her face due to her being a wiggle bum but she always kicks them off completely and I don't want her getting cold in winter which I think will happen if I try her with a duvet as I doubt she will keep it on!

So hard! x

I think my daughter was 15/16 months and there was a reason why we stopped, I think maybe it was really hot and she didn't want anything on. However after that she refused to go back in a grobag. She was a total wriggler too but eventually figured out how to cover herself back up. In the winter we put her in extra fleecy pjs and that made her sleep an hour longer in the morning. She never got caught up in the duvet but we got a cot one so it wasn't huge, when she uncovered herself she would just end up sleeping ontop of it.
You could give it a go and just be prepared to cover her up a few times or put warmer pjs on etc until they get the hang of it?x

Thanks all. I was thinking of getting one as even if she doesn't take to it now then she has it for future. We keep the house fairly warm so I don't think she would get cold. I think I'm more worried if she wriggled and got trapped under it x

Noah has had a duvet since he was 11-12ms old... Aswell as a pillow x

We got some of the 36 months ones and my son still has room in his. Hes just until a meter tall now at 26 months.

My LO had a duvet from 6 months as she wouldn't entertain a Grobag at home but did at my mums. She didn't actually like being covered at all tho and would kick it off. She is 22 months now and for about 3 months has loved to slide under her duvet in bed. I actually put it width ways and tuck it under each side as she is a wriggle bum. I just leave plenty of room under it for her to wriggle and turn x

I switched my son to a duvet and pillow when he was just over 12 months. He had the summer to get used to it and by winter he wasn't kicking it off anymore.

This is a good point, maybe I will try the transition now it's coming up to summer and see what happens. Would probably rather try it than spend £60 on grobags straight away, can always buy them later if she doesn't get on with duvet. Think I may leave a pillow for a little while longer though as my daughter has a bad habit of sleeping face down x

I agree, think I might give it a go too. He's going to need new bags fairly soon so I might as well start now rather than buying a load of new ones.

I like the idea of trying in the summer so will see how we go. I have one 2tog 18-36mth bag that I have to wash and tumble dry between nap and evening! Refusing to buy more. Sometimes worth checking tkmaxx as they often have them cheaper - grobags are soooo expensive! x

Had no choice but to try Harry with one last night as one was in the wash n then he weed on the other one!! So I popped a duvet over him n was worried Alnight but he was fine bless him so think I will go fir it over the summer. He's 16 months by the way.

My Lo used to have grow bags but found them too restrictive so we stopped. I try to cover him with a blanket but he always kicks it's off and I do think he wakes because he gets cold. I have looked into purchasing the 'gro to bed' set but it's about £50 and my Lo drinks like a fish so often wakes up damp so I would end up washing it constantly. I do think that it's a fab idea tho definitely look into it ladies xxxx

We did it in the summer too. James was about 19-20 months.
