Our little one is only 2 weeks old but I already know that he isn't going to fit in his Moses basket for 6 months. We have quite a small bedroom so there is no way we can fit a cot in there. Is there anything else we could have that will last a little longer? X

We moved ds into his cot at around a month old. He hated his Moses as he's a wriggler and fidgeter so much preferred the space of his cot. We took one side off and had it right up against my side of the bed so we were side-sleeping. He slept so much better for it!

We just don't have the room for a cot in our room. Really don't want to put him in his own room till 6 months x

My boy was in a cot from newborn, but if that isn't an option, I understand space!.. There is a 'crib' . My friend had one, much more spacious but doesn't take up space. Should last till around 6 months then too xx

You get cribs which are smaller, and also space saver cots.

Hmmm, we have a crib. It's quite long, but baby sleeps with his arms out, and is constantly hitting the sides! Not sure the crib will last for another 5 months, to be honest.

Never bothered with a Moses basket due to its size.

I have a chicco next to me, much smaller than a cot but bigger than a crib, meant to last till about a year old I think.

It's fantastic!!! I love mine and my son adores it, as you'll see in my other post, he sleeps 12-13 hours a night straight :) x x
I have a sleepyhead in mine, not sure how much difference it makes though x x

I have the next to me. It's recommended to be used until six months. We bought this primarily because it's the biggest crib type thing we could find. My son is a big baby and I think we will be lucky to get the six months out of it looking at how he'd is in it.

Moses baskets aren't actually designed to be used as long as six months. We got about 11/12 weeks out of the one we had with our eldest. We're were in the same situation as yourself with our eldest and we ended up moving him in to his own room in the cot bed one he out grew the moves basket. It's not for everyone to move them that early, and I hated it the first night. Butit was fine.

The only thing I can think of is that if there's no room for anything bigger in your room, could you sleep in baby's room for a while?

Could you move any furniture from your room to the baby's room until he is ready to go in there? For example, move your wardrobe or chest of drawers to make space for a cot? X

Seriously?!? Only till 6 months.. I was sold a kipper lol

We were going to move him at 8 months into his room but looks earlier now lol

My boy is tiny off his age, 3 months and only 11 lbs bless him so his still tiny in his chicco but maybe for a bigger baby you would need to check size x x x

We have next 2 me too. Found it sooo much better than Moses basket. With first 2 I had a bassinet, so bigger than a Moses but neither of them liked it,

This time baby and I like next2me. I think it's meant to be used until either outgrown or when baby sits up and is likely to climb out.

Have you looked into safe bedsharing? It's not for everyone but if you follow the rules (no duvets, pillows, alcohol, smoking etc) it's very much safe and we've all slept so much better for it :)

My son is five weeks old and eleven pounds!!! Tiny he ain't!

I honestly wouldn't put LO in it once they're sitting up or rolling around. Again I know my boy is a chunk but I don't think it's sturdy enough to cope past six months.

I have an 11lb 3 week old! He's going to be big and tall like his daddy. But it means he's growing out of everything fast.

It's a total pain! At least all the stuff that hardly got used with my eldest is getting a second innings with my youngest.

I have a next 2 me too- with a very big baby (10lb 12pz at birth).
He's now nearly 4 months, and although he still fits in it, he's a real wriggler and ends up the wrong way round in it waking himself!

So it won't be long before he's off into his big boy cot.

However it lasted much longer than my first son did in his mothercare crib- he only lasted til 6 weeks and he was a big un too!

OP- maybe have a look for a second hand space saver cot? Xx

I have a small little one, now 5 months old, and we are coming to the end of our crib (snuzpod) lifetime, but only because he can now roll 360 degrees - there's still a month's worth of size in there (he's now 14 lbs)

When we had out third baby we skipped the Moses basket and went straight to a crib.

We got the saplings katie crib
