Kenzo's moses basket is becoming too small and he's not even 3 months old yet. He is so tall - I don't know what to do.

It's too early for him to sleep alone in his own room and there is no space for his cotbed in our bedroom... I don't think I wanna co-sleep everyday until he is 6 months old - because that's when we want to move him to his own room, and the transition from our bed to his room, alone, will be too extreme.

:?

what would you do if you were me?

when Ash grew out of his moses basket we put him in his cotbed in his own room. But, we have a small single bed in that room aswell, so I just moved in there with him.

I'm still sleeping in that room now, only 3 weeks to go until he's 6 months! I can't wait, so I can actually spend a night with my husband again!

Could you fit another bed in Kenzo's room? Even if it was a temporary one?

we have a sofabed in there (not very comfortable) but I can't sleep when my husband is not next to me  (i know it sounds stupid but that's all I'm used to  )

Glenn has been out of his moses basket ages now, he is tall, well his daddy is 6'3!

We had to put Finn in his own room at 3 months because he outgrew his moses basket & there isn't room in our bedroom for his cot bed. I bought a Digital BT baby monitor so I could hear him if he made a noise and it's worked well so far...

Lil miss is already really too big for the moses basket  ... but we are lucky to have the cotbed in with us... only just though as there isn't much room and you have to get in and out of the bed from the bottom of the bed... :rotfl: will the cot fit if the bed is up against the wall?

Tia went into her own room at 3 months (but because she snored so loudly and still does :rotfl:) we didn't use a monitor because her snoring was loud enough but you could get one of those sensor monitors... the ones that check breathing. We have the tommee tippee one for lil miss.

Evie has outgrown her moses basket already and she's just 5 weeks old!! She is really long though...off the charts!

She's in our room but we have a crib which she should hopefully get another few weeks out of and then she'll have to go in her own room in her cotbed   I'll miss watching her sleep when she goes in her own room

This is why I've never bothered with a moses basket. We have a crib, which usually does till about 5 months :)

I might consider this too :D

Ryan went into his own room at about 6 weeks for this reason...!

We made the transition by putting him to sleep in the moses basket in the cot... so he got used to waking up in a different room. Then one night we just put him straight down in the cot, no problems.

wooow 6 weeks!! :D is he really that tall?? :o

He wasn't so much tall, but stretched his arms out in his sleep and there was getting to be no space and he seemed really cramped.

Arms out like this>

Abigail went in her moses basket, in her cot in her own room from day 3. 8)

I moved Adam from his moses basket to his crib at around 6 weeks as I found that his arms kept banging against the sides which upset him. At 9 weeks he went into a travel cot and 2 nights ago we put him into his cot bed next to us.

It doesn't make that much difference as Adam usually ends up in with us around 2am so we've wasted a lot of money.

I'm not ready to put him in his own room just yet and don't think I will be for a long time yet, but I don't have space problems. There are many mums that put there babies in their own rooms, so my advice would be to do what ever you feel is right for you and what you feel comfortable with.

Sorry if that doesn't help. xxx

can I just ask those who put baby in their own room at 2 or 3 months:

Does baby still wake up to feed? Kenzo wakes up every 2-3 hours every night. That means I will have to get up and go in his room to feed him everytime he wakes up. That must be so tiring. :| (welcome to motherhood I guess  )

Yes... Not fun. I'd go in and get him, bring his back to our room, sit and feed him in bed so I don't get cold, then rock him to sleep then take him back to his room, several times a night.

Until at one point I fed him lying down in bed and we fell asleep like that. I always do that now after the first feed he wakes up for, whenever that happens to be I'll co-sleep for the rest of the night or I just get far too tired.

Willow out grew her moses basket at 6 weeks so we excatly the same as leckershell and never had any probs.

we have just moved Holly into her nursery for the same reason. We have put the moses in the cotbed for now but it will only be a week or so before she is out of that.

She hasnt really noticed to be honest and we have a tomme tippee digital/sensor monitor so we can hear every movement.

If you want him in your room still a crib would probably be the best idea (you can use it again if you decide to have another)
