****** May 2015 Mummies to be *******

Evening ladies. Hope everyone is okay. Mayflower I have my emotional days. I find on them days I just want to be by myself as I get annoyed easily. I usually have a bubble bath and treat myself to some chocolate to cheer me up a bit! last day at work tomorrow and im do glad as struggling to walk now. Can't wait to rest. My mil taught me to crochet this afternoon so bern practicing that all afternoon whilst resting and can't believe where the time has gone tonight. I've so far knitted a blanket and now I've almost cracked crochet I might crochet one too! Hope everyone's had a good day xxx

sorry to hear everyone is feeling emotional it is not a good side effect of pregnancy.

I wonder if you all might have some advice.
my dad's partner is not keen on being called grandma or granny etc, mostly because she doesn't like children and has said she is not happy with my pregnancy as she will have to be involved with the child.
however my main concern is what my child can call her without offence as I would hate for her to be known by her name as it sounds so uninvolved when kids are young.

I hope this makes sense it is a but of a ramble

Hope your last day at work goes well Caseysmummy.

Urm haven't got any advice really flosi, is there another name you can use. We told my dad he'll be called grumpdad as he's so often grumpy. He's happy about our baby though and has even already started making her her own present that he very proudly showed OH last week. Is even nan? out of the question? xx

I can see where you're coming from flosi but I wouldn't over think it. My dad hates grandad or similar so my sisters kids call him by his name pretty much all the time, the eldest is of an age now that she knows he is her grandad but the he's called tony. It kind of sounds cute and my dad is happy being called it. Go with what you dads partner wants maybe? Especially if she's being funny about things anyway maybe this will make her soften to things a bit????

Flosi I've found that my son has chosen what he wants to call people and we've just gone with it. For instance one of our dogs is called lily but he calls her sissa even thou he can say lily!

Flosi- what about auntie? When my dad was younger any elder was auntie or uncle.
But if she doesn't want to be involved then don't give her a title at all.

Morning ladies!

Glad everything is ok Blueeyes, it shows that it's worth getting checked if something isn't feeling right.

Not sure what to suggest Flosi, other than don't worry about it? It's not worth wasting your time over somebody with that attitude!

It's my day off today and Blake woke up just after 6am :nap: I really need more sleep than this!

thanks peeps. I think I'm just being over sensitive about it, and my mum is sadly not here so just wanted her to be involved.

Hello ladies.
Flosi she may change her mind once baby is here but if not try not to worry too much hun.
I haven't gone in to work today as I went to get out of bed this morning and was in so much pain I couldn't walk very far and was nearly in tears trying to get to the loo. Im gonna book a gp appointment I think as it's 100 times worse than it was before I went back to work. Really wanted to do my last day so im a bit gutted but id need to be on my feet for almost 5 hours and can't do more than 5 mins so it just wasn't going to happen! On the up side ill be in double figures tomorrow xxx

Flosi, my mam doesn't want to be called nanny/granny/whatever. She has always said that (mam is relatively young)... I'm happy for her to be called by her first name if that's what she wants. Same as I hate being called auntie xxx! Really winds me up. I have asked people not to refer to me as that. First name will do.

Tell her how you feel, and see if there is an alternative?

Last day in tri 2. Arrrrrrrgggggghhhhh!!!!! Crazy.

caseysmummy that is horrible I hope you feel better soon. And all is ok.
I have not gone today either, I just feel generally rubbish, but think it is to do with everything going on at work rather than pregnancy.

I'm Sure it will all come out in the wash with names etc. Just sad as dad is very excited!

well done bigbee, exciting times ahead!!

Oh no caseysmummy hope youre feeling better :( poor you!!

Bigbee eeeeep Tri 3!!

Gosh ive been so busy this week and have bought far too many nice new home things haha! Ooops!

Im feeling s bit better, I've tried to rest as much as possible today, it's still painful to walk but im just hoping with rest it gets easier. I've managed to learn to crochet properly and stitch the squares together. I love it. Going to keep going with it and see how many blankets I can do. I've told my little boy I will make him one next wgen I get some more wool! Xxx

Hi SG1985

I'm being surprisingly tolerant having been screamed at for the last 30 minutes because apparently he doesn't want fish pie for tea  the joys of toddlerhood eh?

I'm loving crochet Casey, my blanket is now 26 squares big and I can almost see it finished :good: it's so satisfying seeing something come together from just wool and a hook!
