****** May 2015 Mummies to be *******

Morning everyone, another day closer to tri three! I was laid in bed this morning spooning with my male cat while he purred and baby kicked :good: then I had to get up and pee as my bladder was bursting!!

Hope you're all feeling ok/ better today xx

Well I've managed to get out of bed without throwing up. Feeling queesy though :-( not looking forward to the massive amount of Lucozade I'll have to drink soon. I just keep telling myself that once that's over we get to see baby again.

Hope you all have a good day girls x

Jen, do you have to drink it all at once, or can you stretch it over, say, half an hour?

So ladies. Thanks for the reassurance about the movements the other day. The baby was going crazy in my belly yesterday! I'm not getting my hopes up for regular movements just yet but it was really good to feel. And it is also quite sweet, as my OH can feel the baby kick too :) so we went from pretty much no movements to both of us feeling them :) very happy.

Also, a revelation from this morning... I can still quite comfortably lay on my front! I stopped that weeks ago, but this morning I just turned on my front (out of habit), and ta da! Nice and comfy still.

It's not too bad Jen, I had one last pregnancy and my next one is booked for 16th Feb. I found the worst bit was the waiting around for the second blood test. The lucazade isn't so bad, I was starving and welcomed the energy hit! They will tell you to sit still for the 1-2 hour wait so take a book, magazine etc xxx

For those suffering with constipation - try upping your soluble fibre. That doesn't mean fruit necessarily. It's found also in oats, lentils, beans, nuts/seeds, and some salad items like cucumber and celery. Of course the most well know source is apples.

Try a cereal made from oats, beans on wholegrain for lunch, and snacking on mixed nuts.

That's true.... I try to stay off grains though, as I followed paleo diet, and it actually helped my PCOS. now hardly ever eat cereals, bread, pasta, rice etc, and am fine :) just a lot of fruit and veg and protein/fat works a treat!

Good luck ladies. I can imagine constipation can be very unsettling. I don't think you have to have IBS to suffer from it during pregnancy either.

bigger glad you felt some kicks that's so exciting really pleased for you! And roll on Thursday hey ;)

constipation is a cow!! I hate fruit but I bought a blender and each morning I throw some random fruit and I bit of spinach in (its tasteless but sooo good for you) and I've noticed a huge difference! It really helps me because I enjoy fruit smoothies but not actually crunching on fruit x

Good luck today Jen promise its not that bad xx

I'm off to the gym, to try warm up, school run was -5 this morning with sheet ice arggggg! FROZEN

Jessie! Yes, I cannot wait :) such a great milestone. Then another two weeks and we will be in double figures. Crazy!

Anyone watching one born every minute or any similar shows? I watched "don't drop the baby" last night. Don't know why I bother, cos it all looks bleeping painful!

Oh, they showed the size of an epi needle. Won't be having that.........

I love One Born Every Minute, but the last series was on while we were going through the IVF and it was too painful to watch! There must be a new series due on soon?

It's funny because things like bread make me feel better in terms of my non-pregnancy IBS. If I cut them out I'd be more ill. That's why I had to make a conscious effort to make them as healhty as possible by eating wholegrain cereals, bread, rice and pasta. I also only have small portions of them.

I can't even watch adverts for the likes of one born every minute, and that was even before thinking about trying to get pregnant! But I know some people love it. All other medical hospital things I'm give with but this I can't deal with, and I know I'm going to have to.

Morning everyone, had a rough night. Does anyone have any tips for relieving hip/pelvic pain. Keep waking up on my back n panicing.

Yey for baby kicks.. Feels amazing and for me it reassurance baba is okay as I've still not heard heartbeat! 23 wks on Thursday, thought mw would have had a listen by now. Also oh can feel baba kick too, only the big ones tho so he has to be quick and in ryt place to catch it lol

I had a bad experience with epidurals lol. I passed out watching one been given to an old lady when I was a student and I've been anti-epi ever since. I'm not a squeamish person in the slightest nor am I afraid of needles/injections etc but that just tipped me over the edge. The other nurses were very sympathetic and blamed it on the anaesthetic gases in the room lol. I've avoided and epidural twice and I'm plan to do the same this time. I love one born and don't drop the baby. Just waiting for the new series to start now.

Nat, I'm just worried it will mess up my back. Have heard so many stories of needles being unseated incorrectly.

Don't get me wrong, I will not try to be a hero and opt for zero pain relief...but just the prospect of that huge needle going into my spine is putting me off.

Don't drop the baby is good. Some of those guy are complete numpties.

Well I managed to keep the lucozade down. Had to drink it within ten mins but I didn't gag as much as I thought I would! Dying for something to eat now! Got my second bloods at ten past 11.
The wait hasn't been too bad as we had a growth scan. Baby is ok but measuring a few weeks ahead. I've also got quite a bit of excess fluid which they are slightly concerned about so they will test for infections when they take my blood. I'm not sure what the complications are with too much fluid so I'm not sure how to feel at the min. It was nice to see baby again anyway. He's grown lots :-)

Aww lovely scan pic Jen :)

I had an Epi last time and I'm needle phobic :good: I just supped myself to oblivion on G&A while they did it. Only problem was it made me sick

Ahh, Jen! How cute :) glad you managed the lucozade.
Did they say the baby is measuring bigger because of this GTT business? (Sorry, a but clueless...)

Durham, yes - maybe that's the way to do it. Get hammered on G&A then ask for the rest of painkillers :)
