****** May 2015 Mummies to be *******

Yes, pregnancy hormones are a bitch!!!!

Girls, see this GTT test. Does everyone have to have it?

I wonder why the rules vary so much!?

Fasting from midnight I could do.

Urgh, Not looking forward to it at all x

It's not standard in my area Bigbee, but anyone with a BMI over 30 has to have it and that's me.

I am a bit worried about the lucozade tbh, I don't drink anything fizzy and I think lucozade is? I can't drink a mouthful let alone a glass full! Can they give me something else instead?

This is my problem as well Mayflower. I never have liked fizzy drinks and they make me wretch. As far as I know they don't offer anything else.

Was looking forward to 24 week midwife but got canceled at the last minute due to flooding.
She's rebooked me for Thursday now
So use my early finish to check out the baby event at asda
Pretty rubbish but got a tommee tippe newborn starter set as plan to bottle feed
Is any one else using bottles I've got 4 small and 10 big is this enough

Well AFTER my test she said "Oh you could have taken the top off and let it go flat if you cant stand fizzy" Gee thanks, so maybe do that ladies?

Bigbee there's certain criteria, such as BMI, family history that qualify you for being at risk of having it. For me it wasn't those things I just had sugar in my urine sample and they wanted to be safe.

My letter says to fast from 12 hours before the test, and my test is at 9am. I've got another month before mine though.

Hi ladies, no you can't have gaviscon, chewing gum or mints before your GTT. You are allowed to clean your teeth and that's about it and drink water. I am dreading it, I can't stomach lucozade at the best of times. Let alone being pregnant and the thought of having to drink 500mls of the stuff, that I have to provide myself, is making me nervous. It depends where you live. It's not common practice here but my Bmi is 30 and I've had two big babies so mw referred me this time xxx

I am just reading my hospital notes from today, can anyone make sense of this...
Urine analysis: 2+ leucocytes, 1+ protein, 1+ blood - what does all that mean?!
FMs last felt: on palpitation/EMV - I know this refers to fetal movement but what does EMV stand for?

Not everyone has GTT - I have to have it because my dad has diabetes. But I'm still waiting for my letter....I think my mw said I'd have it around 28 weeks and they'd do my mw appointment at the same time.

But I think it's more uncommon to not have one than to have one. After all, it's just another blood test and the results can be so important for your labour plans.

Hi ladies, I have been reading and getting advice and tips for a couple months now, thought I would take to plunge. Can I join this group? I'm due 21st May :-) xx

Ooh a new member :) Welcome babylibbey!

How has pregnancy treated you so far? x

Thankyou :-D it's not been too bad so far. Baby doing very well however I have a low lying placenta, so get another scan at 36wks. I already feel like a whale so I'm expecting to be huge lol xx

Do you want a list haha
Zero sleep, walking like a penguin, hip pain ayazzzz!!, can't stop eating crisps and I'm sick of the sight of hospitals already lol.
On th plus side we have booked a little family holiday end of Feb, try break up the next 18 weeks so it goes faster... In theory lol xx

I can totally relate to the walking like a penguin!
sorry you've had to spend time in hospital - sucks doesn't it!
We too have a family holiday booked in Feb I was discussing ideas with my partner earlier of things that we can do that require me to be sitting down lol

Ahhhh just been offered a tonne of baby girl clothes/moses basket and other bits from my friend, all in fabulous condition and good makes!

Soooo excited to go through it when she drops it off tomorrow!!

I'm quite excited, thinking about holiday instead of counting down days and weeks lol. We are going to centre parcs at penrith. We have 3 other children so they will love it and nice treat for them before new arrival. I plan on doing very little and sitting pool side most of the time lik
