Nice, I'm jealous of the chair AND that you have two monitors! We've tried to get two each for our team for ages and they've always refused, so frustrating when you see some of the othe departments staff that do have them despite there job not really requiring or them not using them! Rant over haha weekend so no work talk!

we don't have anything!! Not even looked tbh.
when its written sounds a little like I'm in denial he he

Freckles been on the quiet side today which isn't like him. Gonna have my dinner, a cold drink & a lie down & see if he picks up. He usually comes to life when I go to bed. If he doesn't pick up I'll phone the maternity unit. Fingers crossed he starts booting!!

I didn't think we had to monitor movements until after 28 weeks?

Hope you get a few kicks to settle your mind though

It's 24 weeks Orion. That's when they should have a pattern established. I usually get a few during the day but not had as many as i usually do xx

Yeah it's 24 weeks, but Mw said to me being my second i may be more aware of her patterns earlier so if i feel worried, ring etc.

I pretty much know her patter and cues now.

Midwife never mentioned anything at my appointment. And most online stuff says trimester 3 onwards.

What should I be doing?

My baby's movements are still very random. No pattern whatsoever lol. I was reading the Count the Kicks website earlier which was really interesting, and it was saying that from 20 weeks we should start trying to take note of their movements so that we know what's unusual.

http://www.countthekicks.org.uk/mums/your-babys-movements/

I've not seen my midwife since 16 weeks so she's not mentioned anything, curiosity just got the better of me.

As far as I knew - around this time we are to try to be aware of any general patterns. And I am. Baby usually gives me a good flurry of kicks before I get out of bed in the morning, and the hours surrounding lunchtime. The evenings are sporadic at the moment. I am almost 25 weeks now.

But to actually monitor the movements and call someone if they reduce...I thought that didn't start until trimester 3.

I also don't find the online sites helpful. I mean, how reduced do the movements need to be before calling.. 5% less? 10% less? 50% less? If baby usually kicks 20 times in 30 minutes but only kick 15 in 30 minutes one morning, is that phonecall worthy? It's a 25% reduction.

It's not very clear to a first timer.

Just to add - my midwife has been great so far. So I'm surprised she'd miss giving me such important info.

There is lots of bad advice around, such as, "aslong as you feel ten kicks a day its fine" NO its not! Bugs me so much that does, its if your baby is doing anything less than normal for them. It all really depends on what you usually feel rather than "the norm" as i feel LOTS of movements to the point my belly is all over the place, feet sticking out etc but if you only feel the odd thing then that's different.

For me, your gut will tell you when you feel uneasy about it, i've went up to hosp a few times with my son and he was perfectly fine and showed me up but its worth the reassurance.

For example, if they are normally active at night say and they weren't tonight, and nothing made them get going i would ring and take it from there...

Does anyone know when you should start monitoring and counting movements when you have an anterior placenta? I'm only just starting to feel movements, and not frequently, so when should I start actually monitoring?

Thanks xx

I don't have any advice on that my love, i wonder if count the kicks mention it?! I would imagine it would be different being you wont feel as much etc?

Will have a look on the site buttonbear. Also seeing midwife a week on Monday, so will ask her xx

Got a question for use girls expecting girls lol... Have you looked at the old wives tales about signs of having a girl? If so do any of you feel like they are accurate for you? Here are some of which i found online...

Your baby's heartbeat is faster than 140 beats per minute.
You're carrying all round.
You're carrying high.
You've missed the "blooming" period altogether.
You suffered morning sickness during your first 12 weeks.
Your left breast is bigger than your right.
You look at yourself in the mirror for at least a minute, but your pupils don't dilate.
You crave sweet things, such as juice, fruit and sweets.
You tie your wedding ring to some thread, hang it over your stomach and it swings from side to side.
Your skin is soft.
You are more moody than usual.
You're asked to show your hands and you present them palms up.
You were the less aggressive partner during love-making when you conceived.
You eat a clove of garlic, but you don't smell of it.
You combine your age at the time of conception with the number of the month you conceived and the resulting number is odd.
Your hair has become thinner and dull during pregnancy.
You lie on your right side when sleeping.
Your pillow faces south when you sleep.
Your urine is dull yellow.
Your previous child's first word was "mama".
In ultrasound pictures, your baby's lower jaw is rounded and the top of the head is tapered. This is called skull theory, and some mums believe it's very accurate.

The reason i ask is because im sure im probably carrying a boy... but i would like a wee girl lol... and a few of these things are accurate enough for me lol... but ino ino all fun and games haha....

P.s i didn't find out as i wanted a surprise and now am dying to know haha

I'm expecting a girl and can only really say these 3:

You suffered morning sickness during your first 12 weeks.

You crave sweet things, such as juice, fruit and sweets.

You lie on your right side when sleeping.

Just had a really sharp pain right down in my bits, it was only for seconds, but I haven't had it before. Is it normal?? xx

Carrying more round
I definitely skipped the blooming stage haha
Um i did the baking soda test and got girl
I dont know her beats per min for heart rate
Crave sweet things

Alot dont count as had them with boy pregnancies or is something that's just me ie left boob bigger, always has been

Good indicator for me is the difference in the 2 pregnancies between my son and this one really.

I am having a girl and....

Her heartbeat is usually around 150bpm

I felt nauseous constantly in the first trimester but was never actually sick, I guess that counts as morning sickness

I crave sweet things

I've found it more comfy to sleep on my right

I am quite moody

Blueeyes could be the dreaded "fanny daggers" they hurt!! Its baby on your cervix hitting/kicking etc
