****** May 2015 Mummies to be *******

Brilliant news larly! Just a quick question ladies. Those of you who are having braxton hicks, how often on average do you get them? With my son certain things would trigger them off like bending to put boots on etc. Today I've hada restful day in bed mostly due to this god damn cold ive got and ive had them regularly throughout out day a lot of the time I was just lying still in bed. At a good guess I've had 10-15 since 6.30 this morning no pain at all with them just tightening for around 15-30 seconds. Is it worth booking in with a dr tomorrow or ringing midwife in morning or speaking to my labour ward tonight for some advice? Just slightly concerned as didn't experience nowhere near this many last time and not sure what to expect with twins xxx

I've had a few days where I've felt like ive had a constant Braxton hicks contraction. I just assumed it's all normal. I didn't feel any I'm my first pregnancy. But I sure enough feel it now! :) I think we're just more in tune.

Had my 20 week scan today and I am definitely team blue! Absolutely no mistaking his bits haha :)

no experience with twins careysmummy but I've been getting a lot of Braxton hicks mostly on an evening and when I'm walking around a lot. I can get about 5-6 in about 3 hours. Just feels really tight and my stomach goes rock hard!

I can feel a fair few braxkton hicks too, didnt feel any(or notice maybe) with my first but like Tasha i think we are maybe more in tune?! I've been told they are normal and only to worry if they get really painful, should really just be uncomfortable.

Glad scan all well Tasha, and congrats on baby boy! :)

Larly!!! So pleased for you :) you can relax and enjoy the pregnancy now

I get some days that feel like a constant braxton hicks.... I think if I eat loads, it sets them off.

Mayflower, just take the time off and enjoy. There is a girl at my work who is leaning tomorrow at 38 weeks. She constantly looks knackered. I am planning to work until 38 weeks (if health permits), but I wish I could leave earlier. Like now.

Thanks ladies it's put my mind at rest. There not painful just uncomfortable. Take my breath when they first come on. Like you say perhaps more in tune this time. I'll see how I am tomorrow as I think maybe I've noticed more with not doing much today. It probably doesn't help that im analysing it all as im terrified of going into premature labour as my consultant told me im at high risk for it. So it may be me being silly! Thanks again ladies xxx

it can apparently be a sign of dehydration as well so a couple of glasses of water might be all your body needs to settle down xxx

Caseysmummy could the braxton hicks be more intense because of carrying twins? Just a thought xx

I just had a quick search on Google about braxton hicks abd twins (usually my last point of call as usually causes more worry than need be lol) but I actually found an interesting post by a lady who had twins who said she could feel them early on with twins end of tri 1 and had them a lot more and also if you find you have them and feel the need to pee it coukd by your bladder contracting as it's the same sort of feeling (her nurse told her this). I've been drinking lots of water today as have a cold and found I needed to pee a lot with them today so this could have been the cause. And yes apparently they are more intense with twins. So mind fully reassured now so not going to worry unless they become really intense and accompanied with pain. Thanks ladies xxx

Glad you're feeling a bit happier now cassysmummy

I felt baby move again this evening yay :-) xx

Freckle was throwing some weird moved last night!! Mexican wave & sticking elbows & knees out all over the place!

I was sooooo uncomfortable last night, my hips were so achey and I couldn't get comfortable in any position.

Morning ladies, my throats sore :( looks like cold number #394 is on its way *sigh* I'm blaming the toddler, he's poorly again too!

Just read recent posts- so pleased about your scan larly that's lovely news to start friday off! Hope everyone is OK this morning (apart from poor Durham :( !!) And its Friday today which means...its nearly the weekend!! Yey! Doing another mothercare visit tomorrow as we feel so horribly disorganised!! Think I might feel better with a few more bits :)
