****** May 2015 Mummies to be *******

I feel your pain Mayflower, I was tossing and turning, well i say that its effort to roll in bed now, involves sitting up which means waking up! Grrrr

Our cotbed and dresser has been delivere to Mothercare this morning, so we'll be collecting that this weekend and putting it all together! I can't wait to see it all done! Just need to get a mattress and bedding.

What has everyone bought so far?l

I've bought the nursery furniture, including Matress, toy box, curtains and door gate. I have a nappy bin, the TT bottle starter kit. Some clothes from the Jan sales. A few toiletries. Oh, also got a pram and car seat.

There's still so much left to get.

Just the crib and a few sleepsuits, that is all!! Sooooo much to get as I have nothing from my son

Don't worry button I've got nothing at all. i didn't feel confident enough until 20 week scan and then hubby was away. We've looks at what we want just not physcially got anything at all.

Had Midwife appointment, mine all seem so short! Check urine and blood pressure all fine, then listened for baby's heartbeat which she found really quickly which was lovely :) That was it job done and I dont' see her until 27th Feb now. I was expecting to be weighed or measured and for blood test for iron levels but nope none of that. Is this quite normal?? Are other peoples appointments like this?

That's true, we have looked at lots and have ideas what we want to get etc.

My mw appts have been the same, last one was just like yours, i wonder if its because its my second?!

Thanks Orion, I think although early this was my kind of 24/25 week time one, I'll be just over 27 weeks at next one (feels ages away!!)

Guess just have to be pleased that they have no concerns about me or little miss :)

I won't see my regular midwife until 31 weeks now...but I'll be checked at hospital when 28 weeks during my GTT test.
Seems ages between appointments until the 3rd trimester when there's one every few weeks of it's your first baby.

I've hardly seen a midwife this pregnancy but my 16 week appointment was like but she didn't listen for the heartbeat. I haven't actually heard my babies heartbeats yet. Im hoping next time I see my midwife she will have a listen. My consultant appointments are similar though. Urine and blood pressure check and a very quick chat over how im feeling or any concerns etc. My gp did say you don't see the midwife as much second time round. I think if I remember from my first they do a blood test around 28 weeks to check for iron levels but I could be wrong. This cold/flu is making me miserable today. Is anyone else suffering from swollen gums also? Only on the roof of my mouthwgen I first wake up then eases off within an hour might book a dentist appointment just to double check everything's okay though. Sorry to hear your also feeling unwell Durham, im also blaming my little boy for the cold as he has it too but my dad gave it to him so not his fault really. He's enjoying a cuddly mummy as he's such a mummy's boy atm xxx

Just catching up. Midwife appts. My last appointment was just before I was 16 weeks and I won't see her again until 28 weeks. Then 34, 36, 38 and 41. I also have the GTT booked for the 5th Feb. We've bought a new changing bag, babies coming home outfit, some other neutral bits and a packet of nappies. That's about it. We don't need a new cot or changing station as well be using my daughters and she'll be moving into a new bed when baby eventually goes into their own room.

We've got pram/travel system, play mat/gym and a few clothing items and muslins. This is why I feel I need to get to mothercare!! Oh and we have monitor too

I'm not too bad, I've had a couple of paracetamol and I feel ok now.

I've not really bought much either as we have lots saved from when Blake was a baby. I've picked up a sleep suit, new blanket, some nappies and my mum bought me the perfect prep.

Our biggest expense is actually new bedroom furniture for Blake as his nursery furniture is going into the babies room. I still need some new bottles, a new mattress for the Moses basket and a buggy board for the pushchair. I've got everything else. I'm going to put some money aside for a clothing shopping spree once baby is here and we know the gender. My staff discount at Matalan will come in handy then :)

OK, you're all making me look too keen! Wanna know what we bought? haha
Cotbed + matress
nursing chair
Big chest of drawers
crib (from NCT sale)
pram
car seat+base
changing bag
baby monitor
bjorn bouncer (NCT sale)
bjorn carrier (NCT sale)
baby gym (NCT sale)
baby spinning gym (NCT sale) - it's one of those where you put baby on their belly
a small set of bottles
steriliser
bottle heater
a bunch of onsies

Still loads of stuff to get though. ALl the big items are pretty much done :) I am debating whether to get one of those next to me cribs though...

We haven't bought anything yet but I've been sorting through LOs old clothes to figure out what we need. I know lots of people will but us more so I'm not massively going to go overboard. Need more newborn and 0-3. I don't really need anything big only 2 mattresses (crib and cotbed) and need to buy the LO a new bed. :)

Want to start getting big things out of the loft but I don't know if we're going to be here when baby arrives so I don't see the point of just bringing it down. :)

Ahhh just realised I'm 22 weeks today, yay love a new week :)

We are planning on moving so waiting until then to get bigger bits and such.

Hope you feel better soon Durham

Glad your appointment went well Elliott.

I have so far only seen my midwife for booking in appointment at 10 weeks, she cancelled the 16 week check as I had an appointment at a similar time with consultant re vitamin d deficiency, however they didn't listen to baby or do any tests. Seeing Midwife on the 26th Jan, so that will be my second appointment with her.

We only started buying after Christmas, but this is what we have so far:
