****** May 2015 Mummies to be *******

Bigbee did you say you are Russian? If so, yes its the same, Ania in Poland is basically our 'Anna' here. Anna in Poland is pronouced a little different to here and as a child they would refer to her as Ania. However we want baby's name to be said as 'Ania' in both countries, if we spell her name 'Anna' Polish family will still call her Ania, but here in UK people would pronounce it as 'Anna' so decided on the Ania spelling to not confuse people.

Blimey reading that it sounds confusing but I know what I mean ha ha :-)

Aww lovely cat Durham

xx

Just want to share - had my 24wk appointment and the midwife said everything looked fab. My tests and BP were even better than my last appointment and she said babies heartbeat sounded perfect.

Not that I've been worrying, but it's still nice to have the reassurance that all looks well so far.

Yes, I am, Blueeyes... It makes sense :) Ania is a pretty name.... Good choice :)

Durham, that cat definitely knows it!

Glad everything is going well Orion :)

Got my GTT results back, All Clear!!!!!!! YAY Can(hopefully all being well) have my homebirth!

How often do you have appointments after the 20 weeks scan if it's your first??

I've got a midwife appointment tomorrow when i'll be just over 21 weeks having had my scan as just under 20 weeks.

I've just had my 21 week appt and wont see her again until 28 weeks unless I want to book to see her etc

Orion - just seen your post. Awesome news. you are right, reassurance is great.

Button, good news - pleased for you.... So if you are having a home birth, is it just in a birthing pool? no other painrelief????

Ah durham what a gorgeous cat :)
Orion that's great news- bet its really put your mind at rest.
Good job I'm a lot heavier than normal- would have blown away today otherwise ;)
Got my nursery wall decal stickers which I'm absolutely thrilled with from Becky and Lolo which saves us re painting an unused room! Great service from the company if anyone needs anything

Yeah, I can have gas and air also at home but that's all, which is fine as I only had a little gas and air with my first and managed well. Water is also the main pain relief, which you've no idea how amazing it feels!! lol

You dont have to pool it at home though can just be on your bed etc but we would love a water birth :)

I see my midwife next at 25 weeks (not seen her since 16 weeks), and then again at 28 weeks which is the same day as my GTT.

I've been rethinking my mat leave plans. I've got more annual leave to take than I thought, so I am thinking I'll leave at 36 weeks and start mat leave at 38 weeks. So my last day would be 17th April. Do you think that's too early? I am already finding the kids hardwork!

Regarding appointments - there should be a schedule in your mat notes

Today was the 24/25 week appointment
Then I see someone at 28 weeks at hospital, not sure it'll be my normal midwife, where I'll have a check up and my GTT. (Congrats on your results buttonbear!)
Then I see my midwife at 31 weeks.

Ooh thanks, I'll have a look in notes and sure will find out more at tomorrow's appoitment :) looking forward to it!

Glad your 24 week appointment went well Orion.

Good to hear you got the all clear Buttonbear

Elliot I have only had my booking in appointment with the midwife so far, she cancelled my 16 week one as i was seeing the consultant re vitamin d deficiency, and she said I didn't need both.

willowburn, we want to get some woodland decals, so will take a look.

Mayflower I am having the same doubts as you. I have annual leave to use too and am thinking of using some at the start, but I don't know whether to finish at 36 weeks and take 2 weeks leave or 37 and one weeks leave then maternity. Keep thinking I'll work as late as possible, but so many people have told me not to.

I'm planning on finishing on 18th April and taking two weeks leave too x

I've been reading the tri 3 threads, and the girls that have worked until 38 weeks are just exhausted by the time they've finished. And it's not like I have a job where I can sit down all day.

But then if I finish at 36 weeks, if I go over my due date it could be six weeks until baby arrives.

my next appointment is with GP at 25 then MW at 28 and then I think every two weeks until birth.

Mayflower - I'd throw the maths away and just take the two weeks off. What's the worst that'll come out of it? Extra time to see friends, family, prepare, rest and spend with OH......

Introducing my perfectly healthy baby boy :pompom: the tricuspid regurgitation has resolved itself & he's as healthy as he should be. Sooooo relieved! it was a long 11 weeks wondering but so glad of the outcome!
