*March and April mums and babies*

He was 13 days! He is 2 weeks old today can't quite believe it!!
I took him out on day 5 and no-one could believe he was that young, he is a bruiser!!

OMG cute overload!! Gorgeous babies ladies. A lot of Olivers 0-3 months are starting to get too small for him already :/

Can I ask what might seem like a silly question? Oscar sleeps in a Moses basket in our room which is normally around 18-20 degrees, and all I put him in to sleep is a sleepsuit and a cellular blanket folded twice. His neck is plenty warm in that but his little hands and feet get cold. Do you think that's enough? I put him in a vest, sleepsuit and a blanket one night and another night in a newborn sleeping bag but he was sweaty when I woke him up. I'm so worried about wrapping him up too warm but because his little hands get so cold I worry that he's not warm enough. I hate worrying so much lol xxx

Lanny I think this is great!! I put J down in a vest, sleepsuit and in a thin sleeping bag (1 tog), but I would like to lose the vest soon. If your baby is warm enough like this, it's great, keep it up and you will have a super healthy child :) I am a bit on a cautious side because J had low temperature for the first couple of days after his birth and we got a bit nervous about it. But I would like to stop using vests soon.

But actually if you want a more official opinion on this, take a look here, pages 4-5, 'yellow' column (16-20 C).

Thanks Olya, I looked at the gro egg but I was a bit unsure if it was a bit pricey for what it actually is, have you got one? I think Oscar is just a very warm baby, his dad is the same, but I feel the cold so easily so it's hard between is to decide if he's a good temperature xxxxx

Lanny yeah we have one, I find it useful as a very dim night light (and for telling the temperature too of course :) ). But yes, it's not cheap... But this link is useful for clothing decisions generally I think.

I think it's great to have a warm baby! I am always cold and wear much more clothes than everybody else, and am jealous of people wearing T shirts in winter!

I might see how things go with Oscar because obviously the weather is going to warm up so it might be useful. But
yeah the clothes guideline is useful :) think I will stick to just his sleepsuit and his cellular blanket.
I'd like to be warmer too lol, but my OH does get so warm and he hates it sometimes. I'm glad Oscar has his skin tone too though, I'm so pale and burn so easily. Xxx

Its perfectly normal for babies to have cold hands and feet for now, it takes about 3 months for their circulation to adapt outside the womb, as long as the the rest of him feels warm then he is fine xxx

Thanks Chrissie that's reassuring, his poor little hands just mostly feel like icicles. Xx

Your babies are gorgeous ladies! Can't wait to be able to add a pic of my own, but still a few weeks left (in theory at least!) Xx

Here's my gorgeous little man...

Just waiting to be weighed again now. Im so worried and hoping for the best! Couldn't pump this morning because I was so nervous my milk wouldn't come.

Worst nightmare confirmed, no weight gain. :(

They tried sending us away telling us to top up with formula again but I said no, he's been getting loads of milk and is weeing and pooing normally so there has to be something stopping him putting on weight.

Waiting in the postnatal ward to see the paediatrician now. Might be here some time.

Oh Podpie what an adorable face Reuben has! Fingers crossed the paediatrician has some answers for you, sorry to hear you felt fobbed off :( xxxx

Podpie oh shame :( sorry it's so stressful for you. Hope you get some answers shortly xx

sorry to butt in, but have just been reading - I had an April baby (but last year) and really struggled with breastfeeding too - I ended up pumping and she had exclusive breastmilk via a bottle for nearly 7 months. It was so tough, but I feel proud of what we managed! Be forceful with the health professionals - I know that when baby #2 arrives I am going to be a lot more pushy this time around! Hope that they find some answers for you podpie.

Oh podpie sorry Reuben hasn't gained anything yet. It's a horrible feeling, i got really upset the other night about Zach but same as you he weeing and pooing for England - so much that it almost doesn't surprise me he isn't gaining! Next weigh in with health visitor tomorrow so fingers crossed...haven't been told to formula top up yet but I can see it coming. X

Podpie and Nik, have you tried making your milk fatter? You can try eating more fat food - I have toasts with condensed milk, eat eclairs, drink full fat milk, etc... This might help your babies to get more calories from you? Just a thought xx

Well we're home from hospital. Urine and initial blood tests were all clear, waiting for results from a more in depth blood test. Going back on Tuesday to be weighed again. Got to keep going with the current feeding plan...

On a more positive note the tongue tie specialist came to assess Reuben when we got home and diagnosed a 50% tie which she has now divided! He's fed and I can see the improvement in his latch already, hopefully this will help him feed better, improve my supply and make life a little easier.

I still don't believe it will fix his weight issues as we know he was getting plenty of milk be it by boob or by syringe and he still didn't gain weight so there must still be something hindering the weight gain.

Thanks ilove. Any excuse to eat lots of goodies!!! I'll give it a go. I am making an effort to drink more water as well, I'm really bad at drinking enough at the best of times.
I'm also never hungry...which can't help. I am eating but probably not as much as I should! Almost lost 2 stone already without even trying.

Podpie you are lucky they did it there and then, hopefully it will help. X
