**March 2018 Mummies - Tri 2**

Yeay congrats on being team blue Charlotte!! Thats so cool you both guessed right!

That's great to know to eat before the scan! A full stomach must press into the uterus somehow.

DH and I both think I'm having a boy too but wont know until the birth. Its so tempting to find out beforehand but staying firm on the idea!
xx

I feel different now. We both are glad we found out. It's very hard to wait till birth. A nice surprise for you :)

I did not know food wakes the baby up. I had left over curry for lunch and baby was very active during the scan. :)

Congratulations Charlotte on finding out your having a Boy, I cant wait to find out what i`am having in a few weeks time X

Congratulations Charlotte!

I think the eating before a scan thing might be to do with higher blood sugar levels after eating? My 20 week scan is a week tomorrow so will definitely try that!

I've updated the first post re gender - if anyone else wants to join let me know :)

Aw congratulations Charlotte, that's lovely news :)

Merry, can you add that I am having a girl please :)

I have my 20 week scan on Monday so I too will have something to eat beforehand. Although maybe best not as it could be better if the baby isn't too active so that the sonographer can do her checks etc??!

Thank you girls :)

If you eat before scan then baby will be awake and moving rather than asleep. My little boy was active but the lady was able to do all the measurements very easily. :) It was very interesting 30 min. We watched him yawning and moving inside. :)

Ahh congratulations Charlotte! Time to start “discussing” names haha! We only have 1 boys name we agree on and I’m convinced we’re having a boy this time so I really hope we don’t go off it. Have you got any you like so far?

Ljd - regarding potty training, 22 months is still quite young and if it’s just not seeming to work it’s always better to stop for a while and try again. Violet was using the potty from 2 but she decided she was ready for knickers at 2yrs 9 months. I let her decide the whole way and I honestly think we can count on 1 hand how many accidents we’ve had since then.
So many people tell you not to force it if they’re not ready so I just let her take the lead. It’s also common for boys to be later than girls apparently.
My sister potty trained my nephew from 2.5yrs and almost a year down the line he’s still wetting the bed, he just wasn’t ready but she wasn’t prepared to stop once she’d started.
Just take his lead and if it’s not quite working then take a month off and try again :). Sorry that turned in to an essay.

Congratulations Dee and Charlotte and Dee on your gender updates - very exciting!

I'm guessing we are going to have lots of 20 weeks scan dates coming up? I'm 16+2 today so still 4 weeks to wait but have my midwife appointment this Thursday to look forward to and hopefully hearing the heartbeat.

I don't have a lot new to report other than horrible constipation - hopefully the midwife will have some good tips for me, I'm eating loads of fibre and fruit so not sure why its started but painful and waking me up in the night.

Work is a nightmare at the minute but less than 20 weeks to work so focusing on that - and got days off over Christmas that will break it up.

Looking at signing up for pregnancy yoga course as running getting slightly uncomfortable and have to stop every 10/15 mins to have a wee! I did yoga with my first have found it really relaxing. xx

Hey ladies!

How are we all?
I have my 20 week scan this Thursday (when I'll be exactly 20 weeks) - SO excited!!! Almost half way eeekkk! Just cant wait to see our baby on screen and make sure everything is all well. I will post a pic. I cant believe how quickly it has flew round. We have been really busy with one thing or another and I find that helps the time to go in. I have loads of social things planned with friends and family in the next couple of months because I know after Christmas I'll probably just want to hibernate and third trimester could be tough going.
ST I started pregnancy yoga 6 weeks ago and find it so so helpful for loosening up those stiff areas and it helps a bit of sciatica and hip pain that I have been experiencing too.
Starting to get a wee bit uncomfortable sleeping at night but a pillow in between my legs and around my chest and bump help. Terrified of sleeping on my back so getting used to swapping sides.
Work is dreadful for me too :-( but thankfully I have a lot of annual leave to take between now and Christmas then only about 6 weeks or so to work after that!
x

Dee, congratulations! Great news :) Did you think you are having a girl before the scan?

I had a feeling inside its a boy :)

Loveandpeace, why is work hard? What do you do?

Hi girls

Charlotte - I was convinced I was having a boy but turned out to be a girl!

I had my 20 week scan today, was lovely to see baby again :) Also had the whooping cough jab whilst there (I've already had flu jab) and saw a consultant. I'm now in the hospital diary for my elective c-section, 22nd of Feb. Makes it so much more real!!

Hubby and I are really struggling with names!! I don't love any really and don't know how I'm going to fall in love with one in the next few months when there really aren't any that Im mad about! Out of interest, which do you prefer out of these - Ella, Elena, Liliana (pronounced Lily-arna)? Surname begins with an E and is quite short.

Has anyone already decided on their baby's name?

Hi ladies, so nice to see all is well with your scans :)

I found the heartbeat on my Doppler for the first time tonight, it was so nice. I’ve had a really awful day of period pain and I was freaking out a bit so it was a nice reassurance.

Dee I think I prefer Lilliana out a f those, it’s very pretty.

I’m pretty sure if we have a girl we’ll call her April, it was a choice between Violet and April last time and Violet just pipped it but I still love the name so will use it this time :). I struggle so much with boys names! But the 1 me and hubby both like currently is Micah. We can’t really find many others we like.

Dee, Liliana is a very nice name. Id say the name will come to you one day.

I've got a few boys names. I will keep looking for more names. The is one I like a lot but I'm sure I can find even better one.

I like unusual names.

I like Ella the best Dee. You have lots of time to decide and might even come up with something else entirely!

Charlotte my job isn't physically demanding but I work with cancer patients so it can be emotionally draining and difficult sometimes, especially as my Mum passed away due to cancer in May this year. Although its not so much the job itself that's stressful, its the amount of it and no support and a difficult work colleague that is causing more stress! There is no duty of care at all and am so close to going off on stress but I dont like letting the patients down.

We have agreed on Lily for a girls name, its DHs grandmothers name and its also short for Elizabeth which is my Mums name, so we really love that name for a girl.
We just can not agree on a boys name at all! DH loves the name Maverick and its meaning. His nickname already for the baby is Mav even though we are team yellow lol. He also likes Valentino. I really like the name Sol because if the meaning and also because I got my BFP on the summer solstice. I love the name Jax but my friend had a baby boy in July and called him Jack so couldnt really go with that. I also like some biblical names like Levi and Eli.

xx

Dee, Lilliana is lovely. I like Elena, like Ella too but I teach quite a few so depends how unusual you want it to be.

I'm slowly building up a list of girls' names but really stuck if it's a boy. We like unusual names (not weirdly so!) and it's a lot harder to find one for boys than girls!

Got my 20 week scan tomorrow, really excited. Although not about the whole full bladder issue... really don't like the idea of someone pressing down on my stomach when I really need a wee! :)

Thanks for all of the opinions on names. I quite like the simplicity of Ella but am concerned about how popular it is. I really like Liliana too but my husband isn't keen as thinks it sounds a bit chavy?! Also, do you think that people would pronounce it Lily-ANNA as opposed to Lily-ARNA? I'm not as keen on Lili-ANNA.

Merry - that's the thing with the scan isn't it, you're busting for the loo!! My sonographer also had to dig in a bit deep at times in order to get the measurements which was a bit uncomfortable with the full bladder. So lovely to see baby though  Best of luck for tomorrow, enjoy! xx

Merry, if you drink 2 cups 15 min before scan it will be enough. I always sit down in waiting room and then start drinking water. It's easier. Instructions say drink 1 L hour before ha ha it's so hard.

What time is your scan?

My baby was pushing on my bladder yesterday. Was uncomfortable to walk. Went to see midwife and she said babies at this stage move around alot and can get into funny positions. :)
Today my boy has turned around into more comfortable position.

Can you girls feel baby kicks?

I have an anterior placenta this time so unfortunately can't feel much movement at all. I have a Doppler though which acts as a bit of reassurance, I can hear her moving around a lot sometimes but normally can't feel anything. I do feel very occasional kicks though and I'm hoping I will feel more as she gets bigger. Do you feel kicks Charlotte?

Hi ladies, hope everyone is doing well.

I'm 16+6 today, had my midwife appointment yesterday and got to hear the heartbeat, was so lovely and made me feel really emotional had to have a little cry when I got home.

Starting to feel 'flutters' but never sure if I'm imagining it! Time seems to be going by faster in Q2 and only 3 weeks until my 20 week scan. Also booked a weekend away in December with husband, son and inlaws so looking forward to that.

Dee - I know of a Liliana and it's a beautiful name, the one I know is pronounced Lili-Arna.

Looking forward to seeing some 20 week scan piccies soon :-)
